I would not send my worst enemy here. (1) despite online description there is NO restaurant, extremely noisy neighbourhood and the guest in another room have the tv so loud, rude. Mine does not work. Truthfully if I could find elsewhere and afford it I would leave now. I hate staying in hotels. Nothing but very bad experiences.

We have booked 2 nights to attend a wedding at The Ferry House. Our experience has been so bad that we decided to drive back in the middle of the night after the wedding, rather than staying another night at this place. As many others have commented here, this has been the worst hotel we have stayed in. The cleaning standard, quality of the rooms and breakfast is all far from good but can be argued about and is not the main point of our frustration. The hotel is misrepresenting what they are selling. We have booked a room that was described to be ~40 square meters, containing a sofa and an extra large double bed. The room was tiny, there was no sofa and the bed was ~1.20m wide (see attached pictures) - not even wide enough to fit the two pillows. The two of us just about fit into the bed but any time one of us turned around at night, an arm or leg fell out and woke us up. Right after entering the room, we asked at reception if there was another one available to change into but were told the hotel was fully booked, even though there were just 3 cars in the car park (including ours and already after 9pm) and the public transport to the hotel is less than ideal. We believe the only reason this hotel is still running is the proximity to the very good wedding venue. Please don't repeat our mistake and opt for a longer drive or taxi ride to a different hotel after the wedding party.

I stayed at the named place for one night and I am so glad it was only one night !!! I was bitten several times on my body by some form of creature living in the same property! The room was a shambles ! The carpet looked like it had never seen a hoover in its life ! The decor was shameful as there were dirt marks on walls and where they had done DIY jobs they hadn't been painted over. It was meant to be bed and breakfast as that's what I paid for, I asked what time it would be open and they said 7:30. So I asked if they could open earlier the night before for breakfast and they said yes at 7:00 am. When I came down the next morning for breakfast in the eating area no one was to be found and it was all locked up. So I had to go outside and sit in my car in the carpark until they opened up at 7:10 am. When I spoke to the gentleman regarding my breakfast (not the same one as the night before). He told me that breakfast would be served at 7:30 ! To which I explained my situation about coming down earlier. The gentleman said I could wait in the restaurant ( if that's what you could call it) for my cooked breakfast. While waiting one of the gentlemen I spoke to the night before had come in and I asked him why had this not been passed on ? He looked at me and said he did but nothing they could do now as they didn't even have the kitchen open or cookers on !!! He said he would get cereal out and bread for me. While I was making toast I saw ants crawling all over the food, jams, butters etc which were stored underneath the tables. At this point my appetite had disappeared and I left. I was devastated as I love my food and left hungry. I will never ever stay or waste my money on this place again. My advice is get some new management and spend £50k on getting it refurbished if not then bulldoze it down.

Do no come to this place I'll up load some pictures they will explain for them selfs, written an email and have ignored me it's like being in a 1970s room that hasn't been cleaned. Nothing like the photos even had ants all over the breakfast! Proper false advertising! Save your money and don't come here also a old man feel over because of no lighting seriously hurt him self I hope he sues them

Just fancied a cheap night away and room was pleasant enough although the jacuzzi did not work in the room, you need binoculars to see the tv from the bed Was advised on arrival bar and restaurant was closed, after asking the cleaner for advice on where to eat locally the manager was very invasive and did not like the cleaner advising us where to eat ! Was then approached by the manager later who asked why could we not order food in ? Simply I want to eat in a restaurant !! As stated this could be a simple fix a bit of tlc and new management. will not even consider staying here again until the facilities they advertise and offer are actually available

The hotel advertised restaurant and spa , it had neither. The room was run down, patches of paint on ceiling a hole patched up on the bathroom door, rust on the radiator. There wasn't a continental breakfast, it was stale bread, stale crumpets, packaged ham and cheese. The coffee was OK and the yoghurts were very nice. I could not recommend this hotel since it has changed management.

This is not a hotel, its a scam to get money from people for services that don't exist in an disgustingly filthy and broken environment. How it carries anything but a one star review anywhere is a mystery and sites that allow booking here are negligent for not confirming. Extremely poor reviews on multiple sites

We have arrived at the most disgusting, dirty, filthy, smelly place. The toilet doesn’t flush, the shower is constantly running, not dripping, RUNNING! The carpets are filthy, the shower is mouldy, the hallway and rooms stink. The beds are like cardboard, I currently have 3 children, my partner and myself in the one bed because luckily we had some blankets in the car. This is beyond appalling. It’s far too late at night and we are miles away from any other hotel with vacancies so late. This hotels reviews on the internet are all awful. We have no choice but to spend the night here. We had a slight problem with booking.com and they booked us this hotel, with out reading reviews, we just wanted somewhere to settle the kids for the night. This has been by far the worst experience and I would suggest everyone AVOIDS AT ALL COSTS. When we returned our keys this morning, my partner tried to explain to the man at the desk, that the room was vile and not fit for children to stay in, his reply was ‘I know mate sorry’ then walked away!

We booked a 2 night stay through buy a gift and when we arrived we were shown to our room (number 7). We were very disappointed to say the least, the curtains were hanging off the rail, the cushion was ripped on the sofa, there was a filled in hole on the bathroom door, the door to the room was stiff and you had to push really hard to open it. The room felt dirty and there was mould on the windows. The kettle was too big to fit under the tap so you had to use a cup to fill it up. We went downstairs to enquire about breakfast that we had booked through buy a gift to be told that it had been booked a room only and we would have to pay for breakfast if we wanted it. We were also told that we would have to take this up with buy a gift as they are a scam company! We let this go as we were only there for 2 nights and looking at the restaurant and bar we didn't want to chance eating there. There was a note on the bar stating that the kitchen was closed. We went out for the day and went to the bar and asked if we could have more milk for the room. We were given 4 of the little pots and told that it was all they had as they were waiting for a delivery. We got up the following morning and went out for the day. We had dinner out and when we got back we went to our room to find that his had not been cleaned and there were still dirty cups and no clean towels. My partner went to reception and the response he got was "well it should have been cleaned! ". This has got to be one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in and I will also be writing to buy a gift to take this up with them.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at by far. Black mold on the windows of the honeymoon suite, Jacuzzi bath that is broken. Very squeaky four poster bed. When highlighting to the manager the cleaning staff became abusive. The receiption staff tried to charge 5 pounds per person for breakfast which was included in booking. There is no hot food available for breakfast only stale crumpets and muffins, Dirty glasses and cutlery. The manager stated the locals are happy with the condition of the rooms which will explain what sort of people stay and work at this hotel that give it postive reviews. Avoid this hotel at all costs if you want a clean healthy night sleep. Avoid taking your children here as it would be damaging to there health and given the abusive behaviour from the cleaners when trying to speak with manager it would not be suitable for a yound child to see or hear that behaviour from an adult. Due to Corona virus you would think there are measures in place to ensure the hygeine is the top priority. The owner Vicky needs to be taken to court over the health hazards in this hotel. Disgusting hotel, i am shocked to see any positive reviews as this place is the worst hotel in country by far. Please see attached photos of the mold on windows, stains on carpet. Nuts shell on floor (I have a nut allergy so was shocked to see this)

This was the worst stay at any hotel I have ever experienced. To begin with the electric car charging points which state are working and free are not at all working and never have, and no apologies were made for this. The “honeymoon” suite was far from a romantic place to stay- BLACK mould on windowsills and toilet roll holder hanging on by thread in bathroom, walls were dirty, floor covered in white stains and jet bath with no working jets! When we attempted to complain to reception and very rude obnoxious woman named Lisa (the cleaner who can’t clean) abused us and told us we wrong and she was right, even belittled us enough to say we thought our £50 night stay was like the the ritz! Absolute insult to the Beautiful establishment the ritz is and a clear eye opener that these people have no regard or respect for customers. I was then approached a second time, ( with video evidence ) by this horrible Lisa woman who seems to be very loud and mouthy for someone who should be cleaning mould instead of causing distress to paying customers )and was made to feel uncomfortable and threatened after paying money to this disgusting place. The tone used by a cleaner who’s clearly inadequate to even do her job properly was vile and I would avoid this hotel for above reasons . I would avoid bringing children to this hotel at all costs , it would be detrimental to an adults health let alone a child, and not to mention a bad example of customer service. Bullying and acting piggish is not acceptable especially after handing over hard earned money. I am so upset with the stay and no help or compensation has been offered. Completely selfish and disgraceful. Onto the next diabolical experience we had here, the breakfast!! We were given breakfast inclided with our booking, then to be abruptly told by another member of staff that we were to pay £5 for the luxury! This may have been the only issue resolved, however it was very much put back into perspective when we walked into the breakfast room. Horrible decor and tasteless continental breakfast. Stale crumpets - plastic looking fruit and dirty cutlery, tableware and glasses. AVOID please see the pathetic attempts of cleaning in pictures and for goodness sake! Stay away from this pit! Maybe instead of running your mouth run some cleaning products around! The lovely specimen is only shown in pics

Very disappointed with the Manager "Wicky".Tried to book online on Monday and had to email to make a reservation as the mobile phone number provided, wasn't switched on. I was frustrated waiting for an email response so on Wednesday, i googled and found a landline number and phoned. The person on the phone was very cheerful and helpful and booked the 1 family room and 2 regular rooms I required and an email confirmation was sent. A deposit was not required, nor requested, I offered a deposit but was refused. I became concerned when manager Wicky replied later that day to say that they had the rooms I wanted!!. I know they didn't because I had already booked the only family rooms that they had. I got a phone call on Thursday to say the rooms had gone up in price to almost double the original price and that a 50% deposit was required to hold the rooms. I told them I would have to speak to the others in my party before I did that and then I got an email cancelling the rooms. I feel the manager should have honoured the original price quoted but instead cancelled our booking, I believe out of greed, thinking they had 2 different people requesting the rooms. If they managed the hotel better they would know who was booking what! I find this unacceptable. PLEASE be aware of this hotel and even if you get the price confirmed, it doesn't mean anything and that the price might be changed when you turn up You have been warned!!!!!
