Been twice now and food mediocre at best, home cooked? well if you liked defrosted meat and frozen chips and cardboard pizza - avoid!

Friendly & welcoming & a good pint or two. & used by locals - always a good sign. Didn't have time for food but has a good reputation

The food was extremely poor. Burnt roast potatoes, they weren't fresh and must have been reheated several times ,likewise the Yorkshire puddings. I had ONE brussel sprout on my plate my partner was luckier he had two, one tiny floret of brocoli and a couple of carrots. The food was not hot it looked like leftovers and we waited fifty minutes in the cold the heating was off although we had booked and it wasn't busy. I can't understand how they could present food like that with a straight face it was awful and we regret not walking out or complaining at the time.I have never left a bad review before but feel I should warn prospective customers, don't go there . And to add insult to injury the Landlady looked unkempt and sruffy, no pride in her appearance or the food she served. What a shame, under the previous Landlady who took pride in her business it used to be such a lovely pub with beautiful food and great atmosphere ,not any more,

This is what I would call a “proper pub” great owners, great staff brilliant food and a great selection of drinks. So friendly and welcoming. I can’t rave about it enough. Go in, have a drink or a bite and enjoy the friendly atmosphere. You will be made very welcome. 10 out of 10 you’ll feel like a local immediately

Thus pub is a real find. Lovely atmosphere. The food is amazing. Fred and Emily are great hosts. It may be the only pub in Lyminge but it would be my choice anyway.
Just had a lovely meal, all very good, friendly service by Murray was first class.

We have just returned from a lovely Sunday lunch at this pub.Its our second visit. Its a great pub with a local and friendly atmosphere. The roast was hot and tasty, just like home, I would recommend all of it . We were made very welcome . Thank you .Dietary restrictions: One of us was gluten free and everything was available to them and you were not left to feel a nuisance.Parking: Plenty

Went in for a Sunday roast and expected good things after seeing the average rating. I think this may be a wet pub that is attempting to diversify and make food.Long story short, the portions are really small, so don't expect anything huge from your Sunday lunch. Our roast consisted of one slice of meat, a small undercooked Yorkshire pudding, a few bits of thinly cut veg, and a cauliflower cheese between three people which was in a small side dish. I'm not sure what the difference is between the 'normal' size portion and the kids... I hate to think! I didn't take any photos but you can see how small these are from other reviews people have left, and looks like this isn't a new issue. The restaurant ran out of cauliflower cheese after only an hour of opening for Sunday which, amongst other things, suggested there was a general lack of food in the kitchen to serve reasonable portions to paying customers. We waited 30 minutes for desert which consisted of a slice of shop bought cake and a scoop of ice cream. No idea what took so long, especially as the roast came out within minutes of arriving.Unfortunately this is one to avoid until they amend the portion sizes and / or the management.

I would really like to give negative stars but the system doesn't allow it. We were unfortunate enough to eat here on Saturday night. 2 of us had lasagne . The portions were small and dried up they looked like they had been cooked last week and just chucked in a microwave , The scampi was obviously cooked in old fat .Everything was overpriced including the wine ?. Dreadful place. I really wish we had just walked out ... This was meant to be a birthday celebration....staff just couldn't care less just wanted the money---
