Family evening meal. I ordered ox cheek. Well overpriced for what I was goven. Cheek tender but utterly tasteless. No seasoning, jus disappointing as again no flavour. Dophiouse potatoes OK but again no favour except heavy salt. Cabbage disappointing. Please let me know if you would like me to teach you how to cook and I.prove this dish....it is not worth 32!!!!

We are staying here at the Black Horse as I compose this little bit of information for anyone thinking of staying here at the lovely Black Horse inn, well don't hesitate to book as it is a marvellous place to stay, the pub/ restaurant itself is warm, cosy and beautifully laid out with a number of great rooms for all occasions, they are clean and very inviting, the food is very good with an interesting and varied menu AND not pricey, also there are many outside tables for those sunny days, it has many rooms on site, ours has everything one could want and is very spacious, wi fi works immediately without any fuss, there are family rooms and again the Black Horse would cater for any occasion, they are VERY dog friendly, PLUS all the staff are kind, courteous and helpful, we have spoken to the owner on a few occasions and have to say he is a charming elderly man, (hope he reads this !!!).........SO A MASSIVE BIG THANK YOU TO ALL AT THE WONDERFUL BLACK HORSE FOR MAKING THIS A REALLY HAPPY TIME.......Richard, Lesley and Bertie...xxxx

We stayed for one night as we were attending a wedding in the area. We were really happy with our overnight stay. Our accommodation was clean & the price was very reasonable. Free parking was included which was great! We ate dinner in the restaurant. I thought it was quite overpriced for what it was. The service was pretty slow but the waitresses were lovely. We had breakfast the next morning which was an extra charge. It was nice, nothing special & not memorable but it did the trick!

Stayed here for two nights to attend a wedding nearby. Family room was nice and big and suited our needs. Breakfast was included and was lovely. There was a selection of bread/cereals/yoghurt and also a cooked breakfast option. Staff were very friendly. A great place to stay if you are in the area.

They were awfully rude and un accommodating. Booked prior to the day for 10 people. Wouldn’t let us use the toilet on arrival or enter the pub to take a seat…. Despite rain and wind. Food was lovely though so well done to the chefs but the customers service skills for your front of house needs massively improving. We only continued to pay for food there was because we didn’t have time to go somewhere else to eat otherwise we would have gone to The Cock Horse instead

Lovely spot. We spent a night here before visiting Leeds castle then heading to France. The room was down a slight hill but was spotlessly clean and very spacious. Design had been very carefully thought out. There was ample bedding for 5 of us which is normally very difficult to find. The breakfast was exceptional. Full continental and cooked options including black pudding which to me is a sign that they are making an extra special effort. All the staff were completely charming. What a great find!

Disappointing visit for evening meal, the menu was not overly inspiring and prices were high. We both opted for something from the specials as this offered more variety, but sadly neither choice was availble. Good location and setting,

Our room was located in the lower level and had a double bed and two bunk beds. Free wi-fi and all the standard tea and coffee apparatus. Large bathroom and the room was comfortable. A large fan on the wall helped keep it cool enough for sleeping.

The roads to this hotel are very narrow, and Google Maps got the location off by 100 yards or so. The rooms are a little more basic than I expected but everything is there, and clean and warm and working. Breakfast is excellent and dinner is pretty good. The location is exactly what we wanted.

Nice country pub with large garden. Very busy but staff coped well. Good choice of food/drinks. Sitting in the garden was very pleasant although inside the pub was very dark even at 1.30pm on a sunny day. Delicious Sunday roast, reasonably priced. Pleasant staff. Will definitely return & recommend.

First I will say, the staff are very friendly. BUT, the restaurant needs something done. 2 of us, staying for the night....Cost us £270 for a nights stay with food... Evening meal we ordered 2 starters, but only one came. Had to go and chase the waitress (whos mind was somewhere else) for the other. Not good start to our stay. The main course and puddings were acceptable. Breakfast the following morning was something that should never have got as far as our table...fried egg on BURNT toast. Pic attached. The restaurant services need a lot of attention.

We booked the dog loft for my mums 60th and daughters 3rd birthday, the service was great and George helped with the booking and getting our pushchair upstairs. The food was very tasty and filling, I had the seafood nd harrisa risotto and plum tart to finish , also a great selection of local beers and ales . Would definitely recommend

Fantastic stay at this lovely venue. The accommodation was clean and totally adequate. Food is excellent quality, including all the staff. They made our 45th anniversary celebration extra special. It is also very close to Leeds Castle, which was our celebration gift. Well done to every one of the friendly staff at The Black Horse for your efforts and kindness.

Lovely 2 night stay - the breakfast and dinners at the pub were great - really nice staff and the ambience of the pub was great! The rooms my Mum and I stayed in were great. Really clean, spacious and well planned. Really good value for money. Best and cheapest place we’ve stayed in!

I love this pub, the location the food and the beer are all excellent. We often do dog walks from here then back for a pint with dogs in tow. The garden and the pub are excellent and both dog friendly. The restaurant is also very good had a few meals here and never disappointed.
