“I went to my grandson's wedding there. The setting gave a unique atmosphere to the event.

The building is constructed from timber salvaged from trees blown down in the 1987 storm at the site.

The food was excellent and so we're the staff despite being very much in the background.

It was a memorable event and shall cherish my memories of it.

The reason for reluctantly reducing the atmosphere to 4 stars is because the acoustic of the dining hall. It limited conversation at the dining table. Yes I know in getting old and hearing may be not quite what it was but younger attendees agreed with me.

If your visit was for a smaller number of people in less celebratory mood, I doubt whether this would be a problem.”
