Attended a drag night, which was very disappointing. There is no structure to the show, although the singing was good, language appalling. We were a large and paid additional for individual grazing platters. What came out were two sharing platters. When we queried this, they didn't have enough boards!!!.

Mum held her 80th Birthday here with her Family and Friends. We had the private use of the conservatory area. The Meal - A three-course carvery catered for 31 people. The portion sizes of the starters were huge and left little room for the delicious carvery that followed. The carvery was ‘spot on’ as it always is at the Flying Dutchman. Again followed the deserts which due to the portion sizes of the previous courses only 14 of the party could manage. Drinks were ordered via table service, no back and forth to the bar. The Atmosphere - the conservatory area was set up by Caroline and the staff, which looked like a wedding venue it was beautiful ! Flowers adored the ceiling and freshly laundered white table clothes on the tables. The curtain light backdrop just framed the cake perfectly between the floral displays. Caroline went above and beyond to help decorate and answer any questions leading upto the Birthday. Would highly recommend the Flying Dutchman to anyone looking for a venue for their event. Well done the Flying Dutchman and thank you !!

What can I say... I haven't been here for years as moved away...what a disappointment. The inside is completely different...not cosy anymore. Bar varnish is peeling, the toilet doors were dirty..it just looks tired and run down. I chose the steak...it had so much gristle I fed it to the cat! Staff were lovely though and very helpful. Won't be going back. I took my son for a birthday lunch... he had chicken wrapped in bacon... it was OK... nothing special.Felt sad for the place ?

Terrible food. Had the surf and turf, had to send it back due to it being cold, everything on the plate was cold, most of are tables food was cold, some to hungry to send it back.. Was told they are cooking a fresh one. 2nd attemp steak cold, load of Grissle and fat, mushrooms were raw, chips was hot, prawns wasn't, pretty sure they was the same prawns I sent back and they wasn't the advertised tiger king prawns either, £18 won't be using again, downhill over the years, I've eaten here for over 20 years and this was awful, not even a discount or apology.

Highly recommended for the carvery. The best I've had for a long time. The meat is cooked too perfection. And the roast potatoes are too die for..beautiful carvery. Be going back again very

Haven't been here since my younger years when it was just a pub with not bad food.Well things change and the whole experience is completely newThe bar is marvellously decorated to look like a ship very inkeeping with the name. The food was very nice and extremely well presentedThe staff couldn't be more friendly with the chef being happy that you are which was nice to see.The Guinness was cold and smooth ?The outside space is very welcoming and could see that being a perfect spot for a sunkissed afternoon.I shall definitely be going back

We had a fabulous evening here celebrating a very special anniversary. Poker Blackjack and Roulette tables were a huge success Caroline and Kev were extremely helpful and accommodating. I couldn’t help but notice the lovely range of ales they had on offer. Would definitely recommend as a great venue with great staff and atmosphere.❤️♦️?♣️
