This is a big statement but I can honestly say this was the best fish and chips I’ve ever had I had small fish and chips with curry sauce and it was superb I told my wife so many times how good it was while I was eating it she told me to shut up in the end lol Every mouthful was heaven well done woodys I have a caravan in Leysdown and will only ever come to woodys to get fish and chips from now on tried all the rest and nothing comes close

Had lunch there today. We do fish and chip review and was very pleased with everything. Fish was beautifully white flakes, batter very light and crispy (delicious). Chips were slightly soggy for dipping in curry sauce which was absolutely beautiful, would like this in a bottle to take home. Service was great and friendly. Considering it was a busy weekend the wait was only a few minutes. All cooked fresh which is a big plus. Only downfall is you can’t eat in. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. As my partner was a former chip shop owner he was very impressed overall. Thank you. See you again soon. Nicky and Clive

We had a small and a large cod and chips for £18.00 and I must say it was one of the nicest fish and chips I've had for a long time. Friendly staff and we didn't have to wait too long for our cooked to order lunch. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Having popped down the seafront at lunchtime, we were surprised to see pretty much all the food establishments were closed. While sitting outside the Rose and Crown pub, enjoying a drink in the sun, we spotted Woody's across the way. As the pub didn't do food, we popped over and got a takeaway. Upon entry, Woody's appeared very clean, tidy, and structured. It had clear designated ‘order’ and ‘collection’ areas, as to avoid confusion and customer build-up. The lady working on the till was engaging and upbeat. Once paid, she directed me to the collection area. Another lady was working at the collection area, preparing, and assembling the food. She too was engaging. She even went that bit extra and asked if I’d like some lemon to accompany my fish. Something I don’t believe I’ve ever been asked before from a fish and chip takeaway. From purchase to collection, I’d say I was there for no more than 4 minutes. Whilst it was relatively quiet, it was a very quick turnaround. I felt the chips were a bit too soggy, however, my girlfriend very much disagreed. Personal taste I suppose. Sogginess aside, they were fluffy, consistent chips. The fish was excellent! Very light, tasty batter (a nice change from some of the dense, indestructible batter some shops offer) and the fish itself was extremely succulent. Whether you’re after the classic fish and chips on the seafront or just a simple takeaway, I would strongly recommend visiting Woody’s Fish Bar.

There was a bit of a wait for food but that was because everything was cooked fresh. Their meal deal was amazing value for money and so well cooked. Not too greasy and very tasty. Customer service was incredible.

Fresh chips, crispy outside and hot and fluffy inside. Home made Gravy sublime. Battered sausage top drawer. Shame I'm only this way for a show. Lucky find.

Had small cod and large chips, fish was very small compared to my last visit and to much batter..would much prefer my food wrapped in the traditional way rather than the expensive printed boxes and bags which are totally over the top in my view

Had a little visit to Leysdown while on the Island - the staff were welcoming, allowing our little dog inside while we waited for our supper and boy was it good. Golden, crisp batter on the cod and very tasty and the chips were real, traditional and full of flavour. The best fish and chips I've had in a long time I live in Ashford but will be back for another go! Well done.

We had to try this fish n chip shop as my husbands uncle was called Ron Wood (not related). So thought it was an omen to try it. We def wasnt disappointed, coming from a seaside town myself, i feel im quite good at recognising a good portion of fisn chips. Which this certainly was. Cod was beautiful, so fresh, batter was lovely, not pappy or thick, and the chips were spot on. Sat down by the beach on a perfect summer lunch time , with a very happy pooch who loved his sausage from there too. Would def recommend.

Small portions at a high price, beans yes please! Nope curry sauce for you Mr. Thought we'd eat in the gardens opposite, very pleasant seaguls decided to pay us a visit and enjoyed the food more than we did, there's going to be some very stinky seagulls after eating my chips!

Tasted nice but the wait was ages due to chatting and the food is quite small for the price. I would come here again if I was in the area because it wasn't bad, just those 2 points.
