Went for boxing day breakfast, very little customer service on arrival. Arrived at 09:45, went to use the coffee machine,no milk in it. Had to wait for that to be refilled. Went and sat down to drink it. Got up to get some breakfast, all that was there was 2 sausages, a spoonful of beans. I asked if any more food was coming out and told no,it was 10am. The waitress then went and got me some scrambled eggs and a hash brown. Not a lot for £10! We then left, walked past the manager who couldn't even say thank you, or goodbye. Avoid at all costs!!!!

Small, limited menu. Half the staff are OK, but the others are indifferent at best and happy to keep you waiting. Atmosphere? It's next door to a petrol station....

Move the rubbish bin by the table and coffee machine, try taking orders at the tables. Had to pay before eating Decorations dismal. Generally dissapointed. Mc Donald's would have been better.

Couldn't order food for 40 mins, then once the tills were back working a 45 minute que to place order almost 2 hours from arrival to get our starters our 2 little ones were starving, peas not fully cooked, the smothered chicken wasnt smothered, mains were warm not hot so i Definitely will not be returning here your better off across the road in McDonald's

Attended here last night after a long day travelling. Went inside to get a table, however was met by one staff member with a horrendous attitude problem who said that they were fully booked, however said they would put me on a list for the next available table. I waited at the bar for a table and in all honesty I wish I had gone across to McDonald’s. After an hours wait we got seated and there were several tables free, and this was not a particularly busy day. When ordering our food, we did it as one order, with the hope that our food would come together, however this was not the case. The food in my opinion was below average and the service was rubbish. Having said that about the staff, there was one particular staff member who had a very poor attitude and when asked about the food, it was a chore to go and find out and deliver it to the table. It made use feel as if we were beneath her. I must say however there was one staff member who was very nice, very helpful and would make conversation with you. Just wish the other staff members within this place could follow suit.

We had book a family table of 14. We were given 3 tables!! None of our food was served at the same time. When it was bought out the waitress did not know which steaks were well done or rare - not that it made much difference as they were all cooked the same and cold!! The icing on the cake was sending back the burger with hair in it and when it came back it was served as the burger without hair. ?Used loo roll pushed into the corner in the ladies toilet. How they get through a hygiene inspection is beyond me.Cheap yes but definitely not cheerful. You will not get me stepping foot in here ever again. Disgusting.

I went here for dinner recently after a long journey. The food took an hour and a half to arrive due to some system error with the tills, and when it finally did it was missing an item. This eventually turned up just as I was finishing, and the waiter, instead of apologising for the delay, told me what I’d ordered looked like cat food! Absolutely shocking service. The only saving grace was the manager, who was polite and friendly when we spoke to her, and offered us a free drink to apologise for the food delays.

Went for a carvery meal on the 11th and was a bit disappointed. The beef was overdone for my taste although i realise it has to suit a very wide range of tastes. The mash i am pretty sure was instant the roast potatoes were more like smashed potatoes and the stuffing balls were rock hard. Also in other carveries i have been to the plates were given out on trays which i prefer.None of this will stop me going back as the food from the main menu is generally very good though and i have had better carvery meals from here as well so hopefully this was a one offParking: The parking is generally fine although it sometimes is busy but it is a popular restaurant

My party of 5 had the Sunday carvery, the food was barely warm and served on cold plates. The vegetables, carrots and sprouts were so hard, and barely cooked. We were refunded for the cost of the meals.

Food was OK, wasn't keeping up with the amount going out. Wasn't in a rush so wasn't a problem for us, nice small indoor play area which is great for the kids.

Fantastic service, all of the staff was polite and helpful. An abundance of options from the all you can eat breakfast buffet.Could not fault it one bit.Highly recommend ?Kid-friendliness: An awesome play area for kids to enjoy

Main courses poor and undercooked, spent next day in bed or wc with food poisoning. Interior decor and furniture very out dated , total refurbishment needed to restaurant and bar area. Staff OK and tried their best, had booking for 7 but told kitchen was closing at 8 owing to short staffed. Will not eat or drink here in the future and suggest that you should eat elsewhere with better reviews.

We a group of some 20 people who had just came from the Crematorium scattering our mums ashes decided to go and have a family get together at the bobbing apple to all have breakfast together ( already checked the time for which they Allegedly serve breakfast to) . Well we arrived at 10-10 AM and were immediately told they wouldn't serve us at this time because they will have to clear up after us for lunch at 12-00 !!!!Well the staff if don't want to do their jobs should look elsewhere for employment as definitely shouldn't be dealing with the public.Even if just wanted to sit and have a coffee we were told need to be round at the bar as all the tables that wasn't "Reserved" for lunch in an hour and three quarters time were still covered in dirty plates etc where the tables hadn't been cleared away? . So guess they expected us to leave 18month old twins on their own in the play area whilst the parents had to sit at the bar out of sight.Total rudeness and out of order.

I feel loathed to even give this 1 star, can’t rate the food and there isn’t a negative star for service, plus the atmosphere was something like a manic war zone. We tried to visit The Bobbing Apple after spreading mums ashes at the crem. I had looked at the website, which stated breakfast until 10:30. We got there just before 10:15 and registered the cars, when we were told that breakfast had stopped at 10:15. I questioned what the website said and the answer was just repeated, we stop taking orders at 10:15. No apology or customer service skills were applied. We decided to stay for a drink then find somewhere to eat. We had several children with us that wanted to use the soft play, including 2, 2 year olds. We were then told we couldn’t sit at the tables on that area and we needed to go and be by the bar. 2 members of our group stood standing watching the children, they were then told that they couldn’t stand there and had to go. The pub staff were rude, unhelpful, ill-mannered and ensured that 15 local people will no longer use that pub and will certainly spread the word around about their experience. So, well done staff, I’m sure you will get a bonus for this treatment. Advice, if you hate your job that much and can’t deal with customers-consider a new career.
