Met up with some friends for lunch, great menu choice, can thoroughly recommend the ciabatta sandwiches with chips. Very friendly & polite staff who guided us straight to our table and took our drinks order, no awkward hanging around the bar trying to order drinks etc. lovely comfortable surroundings. Will definitely be back. Perfect place to call in after a walk.

Had a wonderful Christmas dinner at this venue including being able to take my dog. Open fire created lovely atmosphere and parking no problem.

The Black Lion is one of my favourite pubs to visit and we as a family visit often. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend going on a Sunday for a roast or on a Friday for their steak night. The pub has a modern, yet country, homely feel to it with fires going whilst you enjoy a bite to eat with a drink. It also has a TV so the boys can watch those important games! The service is friendly, polite and professional and if you visit often enough the ladies behind the bar know your order by heart! Which gives the pub that more personal touch in comparison to other local pubs.I couldn’t recommend enough!

This pub is a case study in how to turn around a mediocre village pub into a brilliant pub. If you have ever had a reason to drive past The Black Lion, change your mind. We were a large party and very satisfied with every aspect.

Sunday roast was really lovely. I had lamb, hubbie had beef, good selection of inclusive veg and everything was cooked to perfection. The apple crumble and custard was yummy. Friendly attentive staff, nothing was any bother, made us feel very welcome. We look forward to returning, well done.Kid-friendliness: Garden with plenty of seating, swing and slide and safe for the little ones.Wheelchair accessibility: I use a crutch and had no problems getting around. Plenty of space for wheelchairs.

Friendly welcome, tasteful decor, clean and smart - but the star of the show is the food which is absolutely exceptional quality. Partner said the fish pie was fresh, full and flavoursome. I had the best fish and chips I’ve tasted for many years in a pub; thick but flaky fish, thin but crispy and tasty batter, home-made mushy peas, and what I assume were double or triple cooked chips. YUM. And despite the high quality, it was all reasonably priced! We’ll be back.

Great old fashioned country pub with a modern feel. The food was great, the staff were friendly and everything was quick and easy I would highly recommend it.
