Stopped here for food yesterday morning - sitting outside in the first bit of sun I have seen all year! The service was super friendly and most importantly, the fry up was amazing! Thank you. Recommended to a few friends already.

Arranged to meet a friend here for lunch ... although there is parking behind the pub, the entrance to it is very tight but we both found a spot by the green itself which gave us 2 hours. The initial welcome was warm, and we were shown to a table near an open fire after ordering some drinks. There was a good choice of starters, mains and desserts. We decided to go straight for main. I opted for the homemade steak in ale pie and mash with seasonal vegetables. My friend opted for the fish and chips. The food was of a very good standard and the portions generous. We had freshly made coffee to follow. If you are visiting Westerham, then I highly recommend a visit for lunch or dinner.Vegetarian options: There was a separate section of vegetarian mains

Great pub, lots of character, lovely staff, great food at reasonable prices. The cheesy cauliflower tops off their Sunday roast in a perfect way!

Been here before but not for a while. Ordered the prawn cocktail baguette. Very good portions yet a tad bland,... other than that good value @ £8. Would go back. Cute olde worldy

Went here for a family get together and they accommodated a large group of us without having to preorder. Food arrived in good time and was served with a smile and was delicious. Great atmosphere, and great choice of food and caters for the whole family. Would highly recommend and will be returning. Thanks again for accommodating us.

Excellent Sunday lunch !!! Beef and lamb was cooked perfectly- roast potatoes were the best I’ve had in a long time - service was very friendly - will definitely be returning well done
Although previously very happy with my dining experience here, on this occasion unfortunately I felt extremely disappointed with the food and service provided. I ordered a beef roast, with a side of cauliflower cheese, which came quickly, however ... the carrots were hard and the cauliflower was brown. Definitely not fresh. I asked for fresh vegetables and was brought more carrots exactly the same as the original ones. I pointed out to the server that the cauliflower cheese looked unfit to eat, and he promised to bring some more, but he never did. My friend and I sat at our table for 45 minutes, expecting a manager to come over and check everything was ok, but noone came.

A really wonderful pub, with a fascinating history. Quintessentially British, with great character, very friendly/kind staff and absolutely delicious food. I cannot recommend this pub high enough. A real gem.

I’ve been vegetarian for almost 60 yrs and I’ve had some pretty terrible things put in front of me in restaurants but today The Grasshopper on the green in Westerham went a step further, the menu is pretty basic and the choice for vegetarians is very poor and having said that I opted for the grilled goat cheese salad as it was the best option, not what you want really on a grey wet Sunday lunch time but no choice and I guessed it was quite a safe option, The most awful disgusting wet pile of old salad leaves with sliced raw onions and god knows what with a nasty cheap round of the worst goat cheese on top was given to me ! I have never ever had such a bad pile of rubbish food served up anywhere in the world! I told the waitress and she said “oh I’ll take it off the bill “ , no sorry ! No shall I get you something else no nothing. I had to sit there and watch everybody eat while I sat with nothing in front of me . Please don’t go in this pub it is a shabby dirty dump and not worth bothering with .
Nice pub good atmosphere
