We'd been on a lovely walk in the area and decided to pop in to see if they had a table free, we took the last table, ordered our food and drinks at the bar, the food was lovely, as were the staff and the atmosphere was great too, also dog friendly.. We'll def call again when in the

We didn't eat but it was really busy and everyone we chatted to had nothing but good things to say about it. We will definitely return.

If you can get in to the place it's a lovely local pub...However, this place really needs to get a grip of when it is actually open and when it's not! - can fully appreciate this is a family business but either change your opening hours to 'flexible' or actually open when you say you're open. Now on the third time after being in the area, the last time on a walk, when was thinking of stopping in after 3pm to be told it can't be opened until 4 pm, previous time was due to a delivery. Sorry not good enough. Either open at 3pm, as advertised, or, again, say otherwise, you're losing business because of this.

Stopped at the Anchor pub earlier today, we were out walking and soaking wet, the landlady let us in and was very friendly.

Cracking pub in a great location by the canal. Full of character with a good range of drinks and now doing what looks like really well priced food.

Not eaten here yet, but this place is nice and cosy, staff are very helpful and friendly, myself and my girlfriend we go here on our mountain bikes, our 6mile local for a shandy and some crisps, this time round we were a little cold and asked if they do hot drinks, not at the moment as they are waiting for a coffee machine, but the boss went above and beyond and made myself and Julia a mug off tea ☕☕ free of charge, they now serve meals in the Anchor ⚓ which we will be trying next time we visit, it's pizza and other stuff, but they've only been open since last time it was closed, but there going in the right direction for a great pub and great hospitality... Must go ?

A lovely pub in a lovely location, well run by a lovely landlady Michelle! We called in for a couple of drinks whilst staying in Salterforth and, having shown an interest in the pubs history, we were invited back the following morning when Michelle would show us around the cellars of the present pub which once formed the original building! Wow! How interesting! We hope Michelle and the staff team have lots of success in the future!

Very surprised to call booking a table and was told you’re not serving food at the moment, please update your web info

This pub is up for lease and is no longer serving food. Drinks only. We were holidaying on the Leeds and Liverpool canal and looking to get a meal that evening only to be dissapointed. Although the website still stays food is being served. Not other food available in that village.
