Lovely easy access experience. Really enjoyed the use of the hides. Always something to see. There was no problem viewing in hides , but it was a quiet midday week visit. Cafeteria clean and menu adequate.

As a tourist visiting £30.80 for two adults was a bit steep sorry that’s $64.13 in New Zealand dollars.Maybe it’s better in the summer months but didn’t see many animals and none of the tv screens were working and the whole place felt like a ghost town and the cafe didn’t even look open with chairs stacked on tables. Not worth the money much better to spend the extra and drive to Chester zoo.

Wonderful bird reserve, amazing variety of species, both collection birds and native. Amazing regeneration of wetlands, really doing great conservation work, raising awareness and looking after their birds. Saw my first wild barn owl here. Great place for families and bird/nature enthusiasts

I feel like this would be much nicer experience in summer when everything is green. There are nice walks, interesting species of birds, a playground, a gift shop and a cafe. A bit too expensive in my opinion and the playground is next to the car park which is not great. Great if you have a membership and can visit few times a year

Great place for all ages to visit. Obviously lots of ducks and wildfowl, but also check out the otters! There's a great playground for children and the coffee shop restaurant is excellent. Entry is pretty expensive, especially for a family, but membership is excellent value for money so if you're local it's well worth signing up.Look out for special events during school holidays, for example pumpkin carving during October half term and the annual puddle jumping competition in spring.

A perfect day out for the casual visitor who wants to see at close hand waterfowl from all over the world, and also for seasoned birdwatchers who want to spend a day observing the wild birds. Kids love the twice-daily feeding of the short-clawed otters. On the open mere we watched (from comfortable hides) mute swans, pink-footed geese, plovers, coots, moorhens, mallards and more. A few days after we were there the big influx of geese from Greenland began, and thousands of swans were expected in from their arctic breeding grounds shortly.
