For 7 years this has been my tuesday lunch stop off.No longer I'm afraid. I think it has changed hands and the drop off has been huge.week 1 inedible old salad leavesweek 2 inedible black pudding scotch egg, coating greasy and undercookedweek 3 five staff behind the counter, none of whom took it upon themselves to actualy make my order.Thats enough chances so I'll have to find somewhere else

Ordered a steak pie, was given a steak & kidney. Had to go in the bin, absolute waste of money. They are not cheap pies so next time please read the signs better

Have Whitesides changed hands?? Is there a new manager??? I have previously bought boxed salads from here which were nice, and good quality. Called today for a boxed salad.....totally different experience. I ordered a ham boxed salad. Member of staff picked up a pre made boxed salad, ready to have chosen ingredients, which in my case was ham. Box contained cous cous. I asked if I could have one without cous cous as I have coeliac disease. Member of staff informed me 'I don't think we can do that, but I'll ask.' Member of staff returned to inform me they could not do that as the boxes were already made up. There was a large section containing all seperate salad ingredients and it would have taken less that 2 minutes to make one up without cous cous. Member of staff appeared embarrassed and apologised. I find this absolutely disgusting that my dietary needs could not be met even though it would have been a simple thing to do. You should be ashamed with yourselves. Having coeliac disease is difficult enough when eating out, without having to face such ignorance and incompetence! My colleagues were disgusted too and will not be placing any more orders there. Shame on you the person who made the decision to refuse to cater for someone with a dietary requirement. You should be ashamed!
Been a few times now as my work colleague enjoys the jacket potato’s. Each time I’ve got a large sandwich and each time it’s just all bread. I continued to give them the benefit of the doubt but yesterday I ordered a large egg Mayo and had the equivalent of half an egg in a large sandwich. The point is to taste the filling not just bread ….

Before lockdown this place was banging. Plenty of choice, and a cafe if you wanted to eat in. Unfortunately it's gone downhill. There is less choice and they have closed the cafe. Just not the same as it was. Shame really.
