Haven't been here for a meal since before Covid and was very pleased that we have rediscovered it. Good menu and both our starters and mains were excellently cooked, presented and served. If you haven't popped in for a meal when in the area you are missing out. Definitely value for money and we will be returning.

18 of us wet and hungry walkers dropped in unexpectedly this eve and were welcomed with an honest run down on what was left on offer on a cold, wet Tuesday, and given an extra couple of logs on the fire. We waited patiently as each meal was cooked from scratch, to each be presented with a fabulous fresh, quality and expertly cooked meal. My battered fish, skin on fries, garden peas with home made tartare sauce and a gorgeous generous addition of curry sauce was absolutely the best. Thankyou to this lovely family run pub, restaurant.

We visited the Black Bull whilst out looking for somewhere to eat. The food was delicious (the best scampi I’ve ever had!) but the service and friendliness of the staff was even better. I’ve never been to a pub and made to feel so welcome. The two staff members who served us are a credit to this pub and will be the rain we are already planning many return visits.

We went to the Bull last night and ordered 2 Burgers. They were lovely, Mine was the Cajun chicken and my other half got Cheese and Bacon burger. They were excellent value for money. We had previously been the week before and it was just ok. Last night Tony was cooking and it made a vast difference. We really enjoyed our meal, Well done.

Great village pub. Friendly owners. Cracking home cooked food. Highly recommend the fish chips and scampi and chips. Will definitely visit again. Such a shame it wasn't busier on a Saturday night

Tony and the team catered for the reception after our family funeral. A 55 person buffet with a strong focus on vegetarian and vegan. What a brilliant spread it was! And thanks to the staff for being on hand throughout to make sure all the guests knew what was on offer. They really went the extra mile. It was clear that all the guests were enjoying themselves. Thanks so much ... a lovely end to a bittersweet day.

This is our go to pub. We love eating here. The food is fantastic and affordable. The portions are huge and it is all presented professionally. The mixed grill is undoubtedly the best I’ve ever had.Couldn’t recommend enough!

Great Pub with great food. They were happy to acomodate our party of 9 including 5 kids when others couldn't and the food was great and well priced. I recommend the black pudding and haggis stack for anyone who's hungry. The languistine scampi is also a winner.

We stumbled upon this pup with a car full of hungry, restless kids. I'm so glad we did! We were greatest and seat swiftly and although the pup was very quiet for a Sunday afternoon it didn't lack atmosphere. The menu was impressive and the specials left me spoilt for choice. After ordering we were told to make ourselves at home and we went off to explore the beer garden. It's a lovely, secure area, where the kids let off some steam before checking out the pool table and chalkboard. Oh and the steps (babies new obsession) The food arrived in good time and the presentation and portions were also very impressive. The lamb chops were huge and so tasty! The childrens meals were perfect, I shared the babies roast dinner and I'm glad I did ? The family who are running the the place are lovely, welcoming and very down to earth, whilst still being very attentive and professional. The chef personally checked us during our meal which was a lovely touch. What more can I say? Other than, we will return!

Lovely staff, absolutely classic pub menu, had fish goujons and halloumi to start then 2 perfectly cooked generous rump steaks with brilliant home made chips and one steak and ale pie. This place should be much busier, it is so underrated. Certainly going back.
