The fish was of a reasonable size and tasted good, the chips were well cooked , mushy peas nice not too dried out or watery like some places, the owner (I think ) friendly .

paid on my card they took the payment twice i rang up to speak to owner/manager to tell them what happened and they kept slamming the phone down on me i have contacted the police and reported!!!!!

I know change in ownership can take time to settle in!! Had fish and chips last night very poor batter flat and soggy chips under cooked and very pale ...its a shame as was once a excellent chippy .

Just had two fish goujan specials. Unfortunately the chips were very chewy. The fish batter was very soggy. We also asked for salt and vinegar but hardly any was put on. If it hadn't closed just after driving off I would have gone back to say something. The actual fish used in the fish goujans was nice.

Last 3 times we have visited it is closed. It is a real shame as the food is really good and we live locally. Despite opening hours on the door saying it is open, it rarely is. Can you please update your actual opening times.

Used to be the best chippy in the area but really disappointed tonight. The batter was soggy and the chips were awful.
I went there looking for tea wanted fish & chips twice big sign on the window saying CASH ONLY rediculous only had my card I paid by card at same place 2 weeks ago I was very disappointed when cash will be going out of circulation soon I’m sure they loose lots of customers cos of this I shall not be going anymore

Very poor service from a business that used to be exceptional. Now only open 3 days a week and twice we have turned up and they were closed! ?I believe this maybe a business in its death throes.Pity as it used to be good.

Sorry, but I know this place has had awards but the award must of been in something else, ....defo not tasty food. The chips were soggy and very tasteless, I asked for curry sauce, huh!!! May as well av not, bothered it was non existence ? I had to make some home made curry sauce when I got home, to compensate!! And as for the pie, it was supposed to be Hollands but I don't think ? it was, it was smaller than a Hollands pie the pastry was so dry I had to dismantle the outer crust and eat the rest of it. The only reason I ate it was cause I'd had a small brekie as I knew i was going across the road to get my dinner, so for those of you who are reading this unless you WANT to eat tastless food then blacks ⚫️ is the place to be..... I was fuming I had to give 1 star ? in order to give a review otherwise it would of been a zero mark....... So all in all a wasted Journey.... Never will I return.:( !!!!!

l thought lve had bad chios from a seaside resort but wow , chips from hear was the worst lve ever had don't think even the sea gulls would eat them ?
