Lovely restaurant with nice decor. It's my first time here, I had nachos for a starter, it was served on an iron cast. The rest of dishes were duck breast (Asian food), Sydney's steak sandwich and fisherman's board. The food was well presented.\\nThe staff was polite and helpful.\\n\\nIt was an enjoyable experience.

I recently booked the function room for a friend's birthday and I cannot praise Sydney's enough! The manager and staff were super helpful with the arrangements, the room was ideal, the food excellent, the service great and we had a fabulous time! Thank you ?

Up from London to visit daughter. Best roast we’d had in years. Every ingredient on the plate was a showstopper and the Yorkshire puds were artworks in themselves. We finished with the orange and berry trifle, and again overwhelmed by the flavours and textures. ‘Trifle’ doesn’t do it justice. Thank you Nathan and chef and team for wonderful evening.

Your greeted with very helpful and polite staff, who showed us to our table, even though we hadn't booked, and brought our drinks, excellent see you soon.

Been in for a drink many times and always enjoyed it but we’ve only dined twice. We enjoyed it the first time, but the second was absolutely amazing. They’ve just launched a brand new tapas menu which we thought was brilliant! The choices were well thought out and designed by the chef and tasted great! I’m a pescatarian and the chef even adapted one of the dishes for me so I could try it. Definitely recommend a visit, especially on a Monday as they offer 20% off the bill. Service was lovely and the dining area is nicely decorated and intimate. Thanks for a great evening.

Very happy with my friends 30th birthday meal I organized for this week. Staff were very helpful and put up the decorations I supplied and brought out the cake too. Food was lovely and the restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back in the near future. Thank you!

Pleasant venue. Very friendly attentive staff but let down by the food. I ordered steak frittes. They claimed it was rib eye. It was the worst cut of meat I’ve had for £28 anywhere ever. They hid it under a thick layer of rosemary marinade which I had to scrape of due to the excess twigs. It was inedible really. The fries and onion rings were good but the fried tomato and mushroom were also inedible and tasted like old oil. My friends all ordered vegetarian dishes and enjoyed it. So a mixed review from me.

Attended this place a couple of weeks back,Food was a good standard, the place was well set out, clean and had a good atmosphere. The only let down was the poor customer service we received. Also the place is advertised on a number of discount sites ie meerkat meals/ NatWest’s taste card, which they still are now but when we presented them the guy went to ask the manager and then returned to say we’re not doing it anymore, we mentioned it at arrival and the lady said no worries show us the code at the end.

Service is extremely slow. My pizza and my friend's sandwich took 40 mins, and it was also very hard to get the staff's attention. We waited for 20 mins to order and we couldn't get anyone's attention. It was almost like we were invisible! When I entered the restaurant looking for my friend, a waiter said 'your friend. Over there' and pointed. As my friend and I are both asians, it makes me wonder whether the waiter had some sort of internal bias. How did he know who my friend was?Food was good but be prepared for a long wait.

I thought id treat myself to sunday lunch i have passed here but never been in till today. Fistly i asked if i could sit in a booth but was told that side was closed today so i sat at the other side of the bar. I ordered a drink and a lamb roast dinner. I had been sat for a couple of minutes when a member of staff explained he wanted to put the table i was at together with another table so would i mind moving , i asked if i could sit round the corner and he pointed to the booths and said they are lovely you could sit there...i thought they were closed? Anyway i didnt mind moving my lunch was brought to me reasonabily quickly. There was a good plate full with plenty of gravy it was tasty till i got to the lamb, pink and very chewy which was a shame as the rest was nice. The staff member( owner?) came over when i was nearly finished to ask how it was. I felt i had to be honest so i explained about the lamb the man said he loves a good roast and offered to bring me more lamb although i had finished my meal apart from the lamb id left on my plate. He did bring me more which was nice of him but unfortunetly it was more of the same i couldnt eat it. So i paid and left to be honest id rather of had a discount on the bill then pay for what i left, shame really its a nice place but i doubt id go back it cost about £23 with my drink.I was dissapointed as it was not what id expected i felt slightly let down.
