A real gem. Just had a beautiful Mother’s Day meal and great to see quality homemade food at a very reasonable price and great atmosphere. We had the fish and chips with chip shop curry sauce and a pea fritters followed by stick toffee pudding - would definitely recommend both of these but the Sunday roasts the rest of our party had were excellent. Mammoth Yorkers pud and all the trimmings.

We ate here today after popping in the day before for one drink (which turned into 3 because it was so cosy and welcoming). 3 courses, a bottle of wine and a few pints of Guiness between us. The food was amazing. I had cheddar pudding, RCG (chicken gyros) and chocolate cremaux. The other half had the mezze starter, ribeye steak and then the special cheesecake. I can honestly say it is the best meal we have ever eaten. I now understand why they add all the extra bits to the meal on Masterchef. When it is done properly, you can taste everything! All the team are so friendly. We were so well looked after. Dog friendly - and they really are dog friendly! The decor is lovely, seating is comfy....I simply cannot fault it! We were already planning our next visit on the way home.

Ate here today for the first time. Visited during "lunch" hours. We were welcomed and seated in a lovely part of the pub the three of us and our dog. Two of us chose the beer and beef pie and a chicken gyros. Both meals were very flavoursome and great portions. Highly recommend and will be next visiting to try the Sunday roast.

I am in a Pub in Caton just outside of Lancaster. The food is insanely good. When you go in order La grand quack it is something to savour. Sunday lunch is also magnificent. I also need to try a steak. This is Michelin standard food which is un discovered. I will be back!!!!

HIDDEN GEM ? ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! My husband and I stayed down the road at a lovely little Airbnb, we ate both evenings at the pub and both nights were absolutely fantastic. The food is by far the best I’ve eaten in a long time, it was hot, cooked to perfection and well portioned. The price for what we ate was excellent value for money. The Chef is exceptional and the whole staff team are great, friendly, helpful and very accommodating. We will definitely be back for more!! Thank you all for making our rare weekend away so special. We had the steak night special: two steaks (choice of rump or sirloin), sauce ( four different types including Diane, blue and peppercorn) chips and a bottle of wine for £40. Everything was fantastic and would highly recommend. Will definitely go again
