Delicious bacon barmcake and egg barmcake in a beautiful

Took my step-mum here for her birthday and it was amazing. The food was plentiful and really tasty, so well presented. We had wraps, finger sandwiches with various fillings, potato wedges, tortilla chips, chocolate cake, cream cake and scones with jam and cream and tea and coffee. Absolutely brilliant. The staff were lovely and very efficient and friendly. I highly recommend it.

Was a lovely spot, we chose to sit outside to have our afternoon tea. The Tea arrived and looked lovely, i do feel it needed a little sonething extra for savoury selection. There wasn't a big selection of drinks to choose from. Cakes were nice, particularly the lemon cake. No jam came with the scones, just butter & cream, we asked a waitress, who told us they didn't have Jam. Can't have scones with just cream! The waitres asked in the pub, they also had no Jam. Asked if we could box them up to take home. Waitress came with 3 peices of tin foil, told us they had no boxes. Just found it strange they hadn't kept on top of the ordering. Reading other reviews pics showed jam with scones. Would visit again and take my grandchildren.

Best afternoon tea, hands down! Eaten here for afternoon tea over a dozen times since they opened, this time was again hands down great. The food is fresh, so tasty and filling. The cakes, are amazing. And of you aren't full, order and extra cake The staff are great. Can't do enough for you

It was okay. Outside there was a lot of litter and inside looked nice . Service was okay but we ordered a small toast and beans for my 2 year old nephew and it was served absolutely scorching hot and couldn’t be eaten for a while. I didn’t get an option of what crisps I wanted with my panini and for three people it came out at £35.. it was nice but wouldn’t visit again

Firstly, I love supporting local small businesses and I can promise you this is the only bad review I have written in all of 2022, but I have to be honest and say I would tell you to avoid this place. We booked breakfast with Santa and was rang a week before to pay upfront via bank transfer which we wasn’t made aware of at the time of booking when we had to pay a deposit. We arrived and had to queue outside in the cold for 10 minutes. When we got inside they had given our table to someone else. Another 10 minute wait and they moved them but they also took the colouring for our children and the crackers which they had already opened and the staff didn’t replace. It was awfully cramped, the childrens breakfast certainly wasn’t as advertised and the adult ones where shocking. The originally told us on arrival it would just be toast egg and beans because the oven wasn’t working, we the recieved a small amount of terrible egg, cold toast, 1 slice of bacon and 1 sausage and freezing cold beans. I contacted the owner after our experience and was offered a voucher for our experience but we do not live locally and was just visiting family for Christmas. I explained this and asked for a partial refund but sadly got ignored. I really wouldn’t recommend this place at all.

Visited the cafe for lunch. Average food at best, long wait between receiving drinks and receiving food. Very very overpriced for mediocre food. Having visited the mill cafe at St catherines a week earlier, this cafe needs to up its quality quickly.

Menu choice is Very poor, only cold sandwiches or baked potatoes, gone downhill since reopening, quality of food is good but poor selection, no toasties or panini's, new menu sucks not sure why⁉️❓❓❓ does as a stop of while out for a walk with my good lady ????

My first visit. My Mum has been before. We had the luxury afternoon tea. It consisted of: Savouries: Sweet potato, butternut squash and leek soup. Egg mayonnaise, Roast chicken, Tuna and mayonnaise and ham sandwiches, crisps and a sausage roll. Sweets: Large coffee renoir (From "All you knead" in Chorley). Caramel shortcake a slice of chocolate cake and lemon cake as well as a scone, jam and cream. There is also a good choice of hot drinks. At £15 per person it was excellent value. We couldn't manage to finish it all and had to bring some home! The premises are rustic in decor and are wheelchair accessible, outside seating is also available. A great spot overlooking the pond and a great place to bring children. Booking is required for afternoon tea, however walk-ins are welcome. I would definitely come again.

Booked an afternoon tea here for a birthday celebration having read previous good reviews and was not disappointed at all. Opted for the de luxe tea, varied selection of sandwich fillings, cup of soup, sausage roll , large scone with butter, jam and clotted cream and finally selection of full size not miniature cakes. Also included in the price was tea or coffee , the quality on offer was excellent and at what I regarded as a very reasonable price. I would add that the rural setting was quiet and ideal for those wishing to get away from a noisier environment and where you can sit and enjoy conversations without distractions- apart from the food of course.

We were told to inform the cafe if we wanted afternoon tea within 48 hours of our visit so I called on Tuesday to confirm that we would like afternoon tea on the Saturday but when we got there the staff said they hadn't been informed so it would take a while to make them up.When we did get the food eventually it was quite nice, especially the scone, and it was good value for money.
