Quiet and historic pub. We didn't see it at its best as it was a wild, wet winter lunchtime so was very quiet when we visited. Few customers and pretty cold in the pub. Food hearty and very generous portions. Good local fare. Pies outstanding. Service was a bit taciturn to begin with but warmer later. A few real ales on offer. Surprisingly, no low or no alcohol beer options at all, which was a bit disappointing.
Quaint 70's decorated historic pub in an area of outstanding beauty, so attracts walkers with dogs. Food excellent and the service 5 star. Check for food availability and times as we go for Sunday Lunch regularly.

Great little pub in Slaidburn, a welcome rest for a walk on the river hodder and a great welcome from the landlady. Didn't eat there but the food looked good. Definitely recommend ?
