First time dining here today. Cracking little pub with first class food. Highly recommend. Will be back when we're in the area.

Used to be such a lovely resturant. I've been many times so didn't hesitate to book a table for a last minute meal out. The food was absolutely awful. I always think when food comes out minutes after ordering you know its pre heated. Everything just tasted really stale. My friend said the exact same thing. The service wasn't up to much either. There was no ambiance in the resturant and it made sense why it was so quiet. Massive shame for such a beautifully located resturant.

Struggling to think of somewhere to eat we stopped at the grey mare. Great service and atmosphere, most importantly the food was amazing we will definitely be coming backKid-friendliness: The most choice we have seen on a children's menu.

Went here this week. I've been many times. All I can say is the food was terrible, microwaved and reheated. The chef needs re training, paid over £90 ( 2 meals where children's meals) which is pretty expensive considering the quality, if I wanted reheated I could do that myself.Staff have no clue what they are doing either. Giving my son a red hot plate on his highchair, seriously? Give me the plate not him, and the plate didn't even fit on the highchair table.Clueless. Will not return here.

Been here many times and it has always been good until this week. The lasagne was like wallpaper paste, the burger was burnt to a crisp, i asked for some parmesan for my little boys spaghetti to attempt to make it taste slightly better, the waitress brings me out parmesan slices, that's after she looked at me as though I was speaking a foreign language, seriously you don't know to grate it?£95 spent on absolute shocking food, and terrible service of waitresses that aren't interested in making your experience pleasant. If you don't want to interact with the public don't do that job. Will not be visiting again.I hope the owners take note.

I haven't been to the Grey Mare for some time. Obviously prices have risen but not enough to warrant charging £2 for a VERY small jug of extra gravy for lamb shank. Bottle of sparkling water was also a bit steep at £3. The service was fine until we finished our meal at 8ish then felt that the staff were trying to get us out and the pub was closing. As eating out is a little more of a luxury now this rather spoilt the evening as we felt pressured to leave. Good atmosphere as the tables were full.

Such very tasty, proper food and quick service that I would go again despite the fact that they charge the extortionate amount of £3.50 for a soda water.
