I cannot recommend this place and more. We had a big family get together of 22+ people. Fortunately for us they were able to seat us in our own private function room. The setting was perfect and the food was even better! Thank you so much to Dayle and the team for making our special occasion that little bit more special.We will be definitely visiting again.

Oh this place is ace, twice we have been now on Sundays and we are super happy with our visits, smart roomy place with great food at great prices the staff also are brilliant, we got to know a lovely waitress on our first visit called Phoebe who had a lovely manner and was really friendly, on the second visit we met the manager Dayle who is the best lady for the job, professional, lovely and engages with her customers and gets to know you. Super, it's what I personally like and makes me want to return. And we will! Not to mention me and my daughter got a free gin on the app for mothers day and that was beautiful. Family of 6 visited for Mother's day. We can highly recommend the battered mushrooms starter and the roast beef rib was gorgeous, although slightly more gravy would be nice for all of the roasties. The battered sea bass was quite strong tasting but a good portion size. A bit more tartare sauce would be nice. The staff were friendly and we all enjoyed our visit.

We walked into an overcrowded pub with only about three staff working at the busy bar. We waited at the bar to ask where our table was that we reserved 12 hours previously and waited for approximately 10 minutes then for staff member came out. We said we’ve booked a table which we had booked 12 hours beforehand for them to say that they hadn’t registered us down and they couldn’t provide us with a table. The staff member then went inside to ask then a table became available in the bar area when we were going to be eating dinner.The table was dirty. The manager said that she would come and get a staff member to clean it and provide us with more menus having only been left 1. However, no one showed up. We let the manager know that we still hadn’t received the table being cleaned or the menus. She then proceeded to wipe down the table with a solitary dry cloth and then gave us a couple more menus.The QR code on the table wasn’t working,so we couldn’t order our food online. After about 10 minutes, looking through the small selection of meals on the menu we went to the bar, waited for a long time to get served and ordered our dinner. One of the people we were with was gluten-free. They only had about three options to choose from to eat, which was disappointing as they felt like they had no choice but to choose something she didn’t want to have.Then, after ordering, we sat down, waited approximately an hour for our dinner, even after the manager letting us know there was no wait for food.Then finally the food came over and and it was cold. The gammon was tough and overcooked.I do understand that there was a previous football match that day, and perhaps a the pub was rather busy and we just came out and unlucky time, but I was very disappointed with the Black Bull and I probably will not be returning.

Me and my husband booked for Valentine’s Day , but needed to be nearer the toilets as my husband was on crutches. They re arranged our seating to do that , thank you so much we had a good night .
