Always a warm welcome and delicious food

hey barrahhh

I feel awful for leaving an independent business a bad review during the current climate of businesses struggling, but this evening was truly one of the worst dining experiences ive had in a long time so I have to be honest. We booked a table of 12 for 7pm (on a sunday) and we ended up leaving foodless after 1 hour and 45 minutes. 2 smaller tables arrived after us (table of 8 and 4) and got their orders taken before us. We waited 30 mins to have our order taken. We then waited an hour for 2 starters and had to remind staff about a drinks order that never arrived. I got my first sip of a coke after being sat down for an hour! After sitting and watching the tables that came after us recieve their food, we decided that we would have to take ours away as we had work in the morning and eating a curry after 9pm is ridiculous. Other members of the party cancelled their food and left. I explained that we were majorly dissapointed with the evening, and the staff apologised but that was it. They denied taking others orders before ours - even though both other tables were sat eating food and we weren't - and said they were really busy (with only 3 tables?). No attempt to rectify the issue, no discount, nothing. The evening was also ruined by the fact the surrounding tables were so painfully loud, we struggled to have a conversation... and we were the biggest table in there! You'd think if anything we would be the noisiest, but no. This isnt the fault of the restaurant, but was the nail in the coffin of an awful evening.Awful service, and to top it off, we just got home to check our takeaway and the order is wrong. Awful awful service, terribly dissapointing evening. Won't be returning sadly.

Great staff and lovely food. Easy to park across the street.

Lovely food and lovely service let down by bland decor and a cold restaurant. Not sure if the heating wasn’t coping or it had not been put on as there were very few people in due to it being a Sunday. A shame as the dishes really were very tasty and there is very easy parking across the road in the carpark.

I was overcharged 3 times IN A ROW for my take away orders. I did not challenge the first 2 times this happened thinking I had an old menu or there was a genuine mistake to bother quibbling over a pound or so overcharge. However when it happened a 3rd time, I lost it when I challenged the staff, being very angry, especially when they tried to give ludicrous excuses why the mistake happened. It is so sad because their curries are great, and staff so polite, but I felt as a customer being taken for a fool, by staff I now see as being deceitful. I will not return. 2 stars only because curries are great.

It’s been a while since I had a take away from Aroma so I was wondering if it’s still as good as I remember…I had a couple of Popadoms to start and a portion of the onion bhajis…very nice and the salad was fresh ?The Chicken Balti(off the bone) was really nice too as was the Garlic and Coriander NaanI felt it was a bit pricey…but what isn’t these days! ?

if i could give this place a zero i would. the food is terrible and the management do not take feed back well at all, infact i was accused of being "aggressive" because he did not like the things i was telling him.Starter: we ordered the butterflied king prawn. how very dissapointing. it came out looking as if it was a birdseye packet fish finger.mains: we ordered to mains both of which basically tasted the same. no individuality of spices although they where two completely different dishes.naans as expectedchips again thankfully they got this right.when i gave my feed back firstly about my starter the manager admitted it was not fresh and that it was out of a packet. very dissapointed. he then argued that i should have said something which worried me even more about his attitude towards customer service. we told him there was no spices even though we asked for one of the dishes to be at a jalfrezi hot style. this was the best bit. the manager said their cooking is made bland because the english people like it...... i am not english im sikh and when i said but you know we are not english so why would you not cater towards our taste his response was "you are being aggressive". could not face the fact that his food was bland hes told us they only cater towards english people who only apparently like bland food or food come out of a freezer packet.if any of my english people want authentic indian food dont bother going here. they clearly are fooling you and some of you may think that your getting great food and can handle the spices. you are wrong the only way you are handling the spices here are because there are none. best going down belgrave road to one of the many indian restaurants who will not base their cooking on the colour of your skin but will cook you what should be real indian food.Aroma spice......hardly i think you should rename yourself.....NO SPICE.good bye

We stopped here on the boat and got a takeaway. Chose the chilli paneer and garlic chilli chicken. Probably one of the best Indian takeaways we have had on our travels, a definite return.

My girlfriend & I enjoyed visiting for our Birthday meal, everything we ate was well prepared & very tasty. Great service & a nice relaxing atmosphere with other guests who appeared to be having a great time.
