Ate there the other evening. Very clean and well set out. The food was great! There were gluten free choices which were quite substantial and very well cooked. The service was fast, friendly and excellent especially from Ella who is a credit to the pub. Would eat there again any time. Highly recommended.

I am in the area on business so popped in for evening meal. The food was great and service was as you want it. Great job I will be in there again. I can't say anything about the rooms as I only eat there.

I have been to this restaurant many time and been satisfied with the food, its nothing extravagant but the food was relatively decent pub grub for a reasonable price. Sunday was the first time we decided to try a Special Sunday roast dinner as we had never tried a Sunday roast from there and after a busy day me and my partner fancied a roast but was too tired to cook one. So we decided to go to Charnwood Arms knowing that the food we have had from there previously was pretty decent. Well we was highly disappointed which is probably an understatement. We both ordered an extra large which certainly did not meet our expectations. There was barley any vegetables, meat or roast potatoes which to be honest was probably not a bad thing as the whole thing was absolutely awful. The roast potatoes where dry like they'd been sat there for ages, there was hardly any vegetables, Yorkshire puddings where dry and chewy, the gravy was like water, hardly any meat, and the stuffing was also dry and chewy. They provided us with my additional sauces as didn't have any. I can honestly say it is the worst Sunday dinner I have ever tried and was a complete waste of money. The service was not great as they where clearly under staffed and when we arrive alot of the tables where unclean from previous customers. We was extremely disappointed and will not be returning anytime soon. I was shocked at such awful quality of food and service. I think this certainly needs to be addressed as we feel it was just a waste of money all round. For them to have served us such a disgrace they should be embarrassed. Highly recommend to not go here for a roast. There is Copt oak and the Stonehouse bullhead not far from there and serve better quality food for similar price.

Attended a wedding here. The staff worked so hard and the wedding venue is lovely. The rooms are nice but you can hear the music from the venue. Food was great ?

We nipped in for a quick meal while in the area, me and my son have Ceoliac's disease and therefor cant eat gluten. So I attempted to use the website for the allergen guide as instructed for my son as the non gluten ingredients menu they had didn't have any children's options. This didn't prove very reliable and the waitress seemed unsure that the pasta was gluten free as suggested so we settled with a chicken breast and bbq sauce for him. There was 1 starter available on the gluten free menu, garlic mushrooms. I love mushrooms so I was happy, however what turned up was a portion of microwaved plain mushrooms and half a seeded gluten free burger bun. I queried the waitress about the missing garlic glaze and was told this contained gluten, I asked why it was advertised on the gluten free menu if this was the case and after checking with the kitchen she brought out a jug of cold glaze.I ordered the rump steak sizzler on the gluten free menu, unfortunately it seemed that rather than cleaning the skillets, they seemed to have attempted the burn off the food. Which had left a nice 1mm layer of charcoal underneath my overdone steak. Which chipped everytime you tried to cut the steak, but after the fiasco of attempting to order gluten free, and seeing my son and partner were happy with their meals, I moved the top layer of food off of the skillet and onto the plate for the sides and ate what I had been given. I was just too tired and hungry to complain, but I left quite deflated. My son and partner enjoyed their meals and there were no adverse gluten reactions, so despite the complaints, thankyou for serving us a gluten free meal.

As I come to the end of my stay, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the staff for a warm friendly atmosphere. Over the last month I have stayed here, I have found the rooms to be clean, tidy and prepared to a high standard. I have not had a bad meal during my time and I would like to thank Debbie and the rest of the staff for looking after me.I would recommend staying here which is about 5 minutes from the M1.Many thanks again to all.

The food is always brilliant here. Wait time is usually not too long and you can order on the app, so you don’t have to remember all the orders when you go to the bar! The seating areas are nice and bright, and the staff are usually friendly. For some reason they put ‘fake’ tubs of ice cream in the freezer, such as Haribo flavour, but actually only serve cheap chocolate and vanilla. I think that’s got to be illegal under trading standards! It’s baffling, I wonder what’s going on in the manager’s head? Very odd marketing choice…Would recommend a visit for your next family meal. Always goes down well with us for a birthday or celebration! There’s quite a large kids play area at the back and outdoor seating. The main indoor seating area is up 3 or 4 steps but there is a ramp access to the left of the building.

Not enough staff. Everytime I come in for drinks and wait at the lower bar for 10+ minutes to order a pint, when the top bar where they order food is prioritied. To add to my review, I went in for breakfast with a colleague. The breakfast was nice. Although when I checked my receipt I saw there were extras added on which I hadn't asked for.Food & drinks: Always a decent pint
