Had the lunchtime menu. Absolutely fantastic. Your staff are very polite and courteous, nothing is too much trouble. Food is superb, quality and quantity. And the puddings are to die for. The best Sundae I have ever had. Would HIGHLY recommend and definitely would visit again.

We booked for the opening weekend of breakfast, and it did not disappoint. The full english was very filling, and the breakfast sourdough wrap tasted amazing (and it was filling too).Quick service too, and plenty in the pot for our teas as well - Cannot fault it.

We booked a table online which was easy, turned up and got put in an empty room where we had to ask for the lights to be put on. After eating our puddings we were sat finishing our drinks when we were asked to move as the next people had arrived. However, there were 3 empty tables behind us. There were 5 on our table, the other tables sat 5-8 people. It was a very disappointing end to the meal, we spent £90 and felt like we were in the way. We will not be returning

Used The Birch Tree 3 times now, it's a lovely pud to visit, get there early say 6.30ish it's quite busy, then by around 8.30 it's quiet, the staff lovely and friendly, there is a good atmosphere as soon as you walk in the place. I have not sampled the food yet so I cannot comment. Give this place a try you might just like it.

Pleasant pub on a busy road through Coalville at Bardon Hill. Ample parking. Food was good and reasonably priced. Good selection. Bar area with open fire (toasty in winter). Dog friendly. Very nice staff. Met some friends for a club meeting and was offered the use of a side (meeting) room free of charge. Easy to overlook this pub, but worth a try.

Went for Sunday lunch with my grandsons..One had a burger and chips which was fine. The other had the vegetarian option, Quorn chicken . Looked very dry and unappetising. Unimaginative when there are so.many delicious homemade vegetarian dishes. My beef was overcooked and the Yorkshire puddings looked frozen . Good selection of vegetables but the "roast" potatoes didn't look like they'd seen the inside of an oven. Two people had the fruit crumble and custard which looked delicious. I opted for trifle. That was basically a glass of jelly. Jelly does not belong in a proper English trifle! Disappointing meal.Vegetarian options: Unimaginative
