Based on this experience - not again!!!!! Table of 5. Reserved a table and were sat in the window where it was cold. Plenty of young men talking among themselves the whole evening without asking if everything was okay with our meal. (Maybe they knew there was a problem with everyone’s food) We had a selection of mains - mixed grill, the garden fence, serloin steaks and a rib eye steak. One of the serloins we asked for medium but was blue. The medium to well done was rare. Mixed grill was okay but everyone’s peas were cold and chips were undercooked. We all had a desert. The apple crumble and the sticky toffee pudding were very nice and were also served hot. But the cheesecake had soggy defrosted strawberries on the top which were mushy and the lemon merangue pie was just not the best. It’s a shame really as the venue itself has a lovely warm feeling. Old exposed brickwork and wood with a modern twist. Needless to say we won’t be returning again. As a pub I would definitely recommend but for a meal based on our experience - definitely not.

Lovely pub , would have loved to spent more time here and had a meal , however we had to sit outside in the cold with our Rescue Dog as they are not allowed in the pub , you’d have thought a small area inside would be nice… nice pleasant staff though…… ??‍♂️

Monday night steak night. Wow amazing. 8oz steak cooked to perfection. Well impressed. Will definitely call in again. Trip advisor would like some photos... too late I've eaten it.

I had quite an amazing time here my family was greeted by this gorgeous little Irish girl and she made sure we were all happy had a joke and was never not smiling I haven’t seen service like hers in a long time fantastic with all customers and I witnessed her giving personal attention to staff who needed help honestly I might be back again food was amazing my rump was perfect.

There is a cheap lunch menu Monday to Friday for £7.50 each if there are two of you, plus a more elaborate and expensive menu. Very friendly service. Order at the bar with your table number. Tasty food and nice wine. Nice old-world pub ambience

Met up with family for drinks. We only stayed for one. Bar staff did not have a clue! They poured the pint of Guinness last so waited ages for that to settle, the coke was flat, they poured the pint of lager 3/4 way full and had to ask for it to be topped up. Toilets were not very clean, toilet roll on the floor, floor was wet and alot of cobwebs.

When the pub was took over from previous owners you could really tell they tried to make a difference and turn place around... Now there is absolutely no atmosphere. You are just meant to eat and go... No socialising and just overall unwelcoming feeling. Plus the food quality on lunch menu.... I get that is cheap but instead of compromising on it just raise your prices a bit and serve something that is edible. Kids chips ..burned and soaked in oil. Had to pour a load of oil out of my lasagne before I started eating it. Just going to point out we have been coming here regularly for years but the atmosphere is not welcoming at all any more ( so different to when they first took over )

Called in for lunch, the staff were friendly and helpful, it was quite busy which is a good sign, there was a 2 meal for £15 deal which was very reasonable, I had hunters chicken and my wife had a lasagne both excellent, nice atmosphere, definitely come again

Great meal as usual, shame about the idiot at the bar being very loud and quite crude.will go back again but hopefully he's not there.

Superb pub, lovely garden. The food was very tasty and excellent value for money...the ribs in particular were huge! Will definitely be back!
