First time visit here with friends and had a fab time. Food was freshly prepared and delicious! We just kept ordering different plates and really enjoyed the choice. Great friendly service, our server Marshall was super knowledgable on dishes. Would happily revisit and reccomend.

this is my fav place to go in Leicester! the bottomless brunch was 10/10, both food and drinks - I love the margaritas. I had the pleasure of being served by Lianne. She is very friendly & attentive, always lovely to see ! Will definitely be coming back based on the customer service :)

Really sorry to say I’ve just come back from a really poor experience at Bodega Cantena. I’ve been here 5 or 6 times before, and had a decent lunch or dinner and recommended the place to others, but tonight was a huge disappointment. I’d booked. when we arrived we were shown to the table right next to the toilets. There was only one other couple sat in the entire restaurant at the time. We politely requested a table elsewhere but were told that was the only option, ‘there are no other tables for 2 available’. So reluctantly we went with it, and agreed to sit where we were told. Fast forward over an hour, and not one of the other tables in the entire side of the restaurant we were in had anyone else take any of the tables around us. Imagine a whole restaurant with you, your friend, then another couple literally sitting a foot away from you, listening to everything you are saying and not being able to avoid hearing everything they are saying, in an otherwise empty restaurant. Rubbish. So the food - our mains turned up at the same time as our starters. We pointed out we didn’t want to eat our mains at the same time, so they were taken away. 15 minutes later after starters, our mains reappeared, complete with rice that had dried up and stuck together under the hot lamp they had obviously sat under for 15 minutes, plus soggy tortillas. By that point we had given up complaining, so just ate with the aim of leaving as soon as we could. One mildly amusing but depressing observation pretty much summed up the night - when we were first seated there was a large sweet potato chip from the previous diners on the floor (which as stated previously, was on the way to the toilets, and also seemed the way staff came and went). We saw at least 5 different members of staff step over this chip, kick it, or stand on it l, through our hours experience eating. It left a big greasy smear on the floor yet no one seemed to be bothered about picking it up despite it being a slip hazard. When we packed d the bill and went to leave, we asked to speak to the manager to talk him though our disappointment, but he was busy, and could speak to us, so we politely told the waiter how we felt, paid, and left. I’d taken my friend as I’d hoped she would have enjoyed the night but instead I’m sat here writing a disappointed review.
Great experience! Amazing service by the waitress Lianne! I went there to eat with my partner last week. We are both from Mexico and were missing flavours from home. We ordered fish tacos, some mezcal and the birria dish and super enjoyed it. Recomendable!

Although we had booked well in advance for a birthday occasion, we were given a table next to the toilets and kitchen. The restaurant was busy but only 2 members of staff who tried their best to serve and clean. I will not bother booking in advance again; made no difference at all. The food was good but not something that I would rush back to soon.
