Sadly, I must say having waited 1HOUR for our takeaway, the taste and presentation of the food was unacceptable.. It is the worst West Indian takeaway food we've had. Firstly, we ordered 5 meals and received only 4. When queried, we were informed the curried goat had finished. If that was the case, why take the order and the money. They couldn't refund the money the same day, and we are still unsure when the money will be refunded. The Jerk wings were fried chicken, which actually tasted like vinegar (yes, you read right). The rice and peas were soggy. The macaroni was a mockery, and the coleslaw was sloppy and tasted as vinegar. We would NEVER return here. STAY CLEAR!!!!

The service was absolutely amazing and the food was delicious! I visited with my small family, and the atmosphere was kid friendly which I appreciated. If you are looking for Caribbean home cooking this is the place to visit!

First time eating in, this evening. Food was delicious, nicely presented, fresh, good portion sizes. Cocktails were also very good. Not very busy, service was great, will go again and would recommend. Nice atmosphere and ambience.Vegetarian options: Good choice

First time at this venue. The staff were excellent with the correct level of help and assistance. They also tried very hard to meet our requests. I enjoyed the food but would have valued more spice. A quiet night but we had a nice booth, and the venue was very nicely decorated. I will come back for more.

Firstly, I visited the restaurant to have a look round on Saturday 25th, then asked the chef standing at the bar for a contact number so I could ring to make a booking. Rang at 5 pm that day to make a booking, which wasn't confirmed. (I was told on the phone, someone would contact me, but no-one ever did to confirm my booking) turned up, when ordering I had to confirm my order 3 times for just orange and lemonade.Curried Goat was nice. I wouldn't recommend it as hardly any meat on it. (Was sick after it/got food poisoning) also no dessert menu.Won't be returning!

First time here and had the best time, the food is exceptional, Ackee and saltfish was spicy but subtle, the curried goat melted away. A warning however, the loaded fries were so good you may not want to eat anywhere else again.

I visited Gwan Easy yesterday with a friend and had two items from the festive tapas menu, Mac and Cheese balls and Wagwan Wings, WOW 10/10!! Fresh, hot, great tasting food. I was pretty hungry so had these as a starter and then the Oxtail with rice and peas for dinner, this comes served with steamed veg and 2 x plantain. WOW! compliments to the chef, I told her to her face that this food is amazing cause she deserved to know.I struggled for carribean food in the city prior to discovering Gwan Easy often travelling to nearby cities Nottingham, Coventry, Birmingham but now there is no need again!Make sure you come down to Gwan Easy!!Thank you Nikola and KerryGreat serviceGreat food.

Ordered a take away on Sunday and thought we’d try here.Food was ok, goat curry more flavourful than the jerk chicken. The downside is the portion - two small slices of plantain, small rice and peas, one chicken leg and some cabbage - £12.We also ordered two lots of dumplings but they were raw in the middle. In total, it was £28. What we got for the price is hugely disappointing and won’t be returning sadly.
Being completely honest, and I don't usually leave reviews like this - I was very disappointed with the food. I had a vegan burger and it had already fallen apart in the box by the time I was out of the shop. Burger was pretty flavourless, which was frustrating considering the price. I've tried a lot of vegan burgers but this one didn't make the cut at all. I was disappointed because it was expensive and I was expecting it to be high quality. Won't be returning, sorry guys
