It was fun trying out a new cuisine, the lamb dish was cooked completely differently from how I had expected it. The flavour was rich in spices however it wasn't spicy which some people may prefer, however, I like my dishes to be on the spicier side nevertheless it was fun to try something new. The coconut rice dish was a little bit of a letdown for me as I had expected the dish to be fragrant and more on the sweeter side due to it being coconut rice but was a tad bit salty, downplaying the coconut flavour. The service was amazing, even though we arrived 30 minutes before the closing time the staff still accommodated us. The food came out pretty fast as well. There was music playing in the background which created a nice ambience and the waiters made sure our experience was good by asking us if everything was good.Overall good vibes. Would recommend.

Visited Kayal in a group of 8 on a busy Saturday night in December. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, felt authentic rather than modern like most Asian restaurants. We were unfamiliar with many of the dishes on the menu which added to the enjoyment especially as the waiting staff were so attentive and happy to answer questions about the dishes. The food was presented superbly and tasted fantastic.Service was prompt. There were no negative comments about any aspect of the evening from anyone in the group.

A little wait but not having booked understandable. Food was fantastic. The waiter recommended a carrot Sweet. It was sweet and well worth it. Will be going again!

We visited here for the team Christmas Dinner. We chose from their pre-set menu. It was a simple three course meal, but the quality of food was outstanding. The service was quick and friendly. The place is well decorated with traditional Indian and Christmas decor. The place is not so big and we had a noisy group sat next to us. Apart from that everything was fine.

Lovely place, brilliant staff. I went with a group of friends and one had special dietary needs. The accommodated very well for us and repeatedly kept asking if we were satisfied with the food and how we liked it. We went for a vegetarian thali, as it was a halal place and we don't eat halal food . It's not exactly a cheap place but definitely a quality place and would highly recommend othersVegetarian options: Brilliant vegetarian thali ti try out. Very filling..you could possibly share 1 as I had to leave half of itDietary restrictions: Listen to your dietary restrictions and cater to your requirements

The ambience is so good.Chicken biryani flavour was good, they only providing boneless chicken in the biryani. Not much affordable a little bit high price compare other kerala restaurant in Leicester. Service is ok.

Lovely unusual Indian restaurant with good ambience, excellent service and some unusual dishes from southern india. Sea food is particularly good. Dosa was a let down as it was not crispy and quite oily. Lots of vegetarian options. Advisable to book as they have just won the Leicestershire curry awards and can be busy.

Chose to eat here, before a trip to the Little Theatre. What a great place! We arrived just as they opened, so a little quiet to start with, but soon filled up. The food was excellent as well as the service. Would definitely recommend and re-visit.

Fantastic flavours of Southern India. The Thalia was delicious. The spiced fish soup starter was so tasty and nothing you've had in generic Indian restaurants.
