We recently dined at Tamatanga, Leicester, and it was an exceptional culinary experience. The ambiance was inviting, with warm, earthy tones and tasteful decor. The menu boasted a diverse selection of dishes, each bursting with authentic flavors. I was particularly impressed by the rich and flavourful paneer wrap, which was filling. Tamatanga is a must-visit for anyone seeking a delightful journey through the flavors of India.

Best indian food in town. No need to look for an alternative. Cosy, stylish ambience. Expect a long wait in the weekends but I guarantee you won't regret it. Punjabi butter chicken is must try and chaat is really one of the best. Pricing is average not top expensive like Dishoom but expect same quality. I highly recommend this indian delicasee.

Title: A Vibrant Culinary Experience at Tamatanga: Real Indian Soul FoodTamatanga, an innovative Indian eatery nestled in the city's vibrant dining scene, offers an immersive experience that goes beyond just a meal. It's a place that captures the essence of India's culinary diversity, served with warmth and a dash of contemporary flair.Walking into Tamatanga, you're immediately enveloped by a lively, bustling atmosphere that beautifully mirrors the vibrant street life of India. The decor is a charming mix of rustic and modern touches, with colourful murals and lanterns adding to the playful yet cozy ambience. The food at Tamatanga is a tribute to the rich tapestry of Indian cuisine, with each dish telling a story of the different regions of the country. The menu is a well-curated mix of traditional favourites and innovative creations, all of which are brimming with authentic flavours. What truly sets Tamatanga apart, however, is the hospitality. The staff is attentive, friendly, and eager to help, making you feel at home. They are well-versed with the menu and offer excellent recommendations to enhance your culinary journey.Despite these positives, the restaurant could improve in terms of portion sizes, especially for the price point. Some of the dishes, like the Butter Chicken and Lamb Biryani, felt a bit skimpy, leaving you wanting more. The thalidomide we had was OK and had a could choice but very small portions, and extra naan cost £4.25 for 2 very small naan that are finished in two bites

Wow! Wow! Wow!Simply satisfying! We’ve only eaten at one other Indian food restaurant in the UK, having relocated from South Africa(the place for the best curry)and it was such a disappointment …so was a bit wary to try again..but, boy were we pleasantly impressed with the food here! We had a lamb biryani bowl, railway cabin lamb curry , bang bang chicken, a side salad and the first/class lamb chops! The best!

Tasty high street Indian food with cocktails. Two side plate size tasty naan breads with a main. Truly full up! Quality veggie dishes too.

As the name suggests, it's a spinoff Indian restaurant in Leicester city centre. We opted set menu which gives us an option to choose from a starter and main course. The staff helped us decide on the right item to taste on our palate. Bit expensive but definitely worth the price. We ordered papri chat, paneer makhani, sag paneer, gunpowder paneer, veggie biryani and cocktails. We enjoyed our food.

Great dinner spot in Leicester! Centrally located and delicious food. Quick, friendly service. We tried lots of their sharing plates and everything was delicious, especially their chaat bombs and lamb naco

Waiter asked us to finish our food & leave as other people are waiting despite booked for an hour and half. You go to a restaurant to enjoy the food and atmosphere. We can eat food by ordering take away.

The restaurant has a good service and a pleasant atmosphere. The food at this restaurant is authentic Indian cuisine, so it's naturally quite spicy. Even the dishes that were labeled as mild were still spicy, so order accordingly and ask for a side of yogurt if you're not used to spicy food!

Right in the city centre. Good variety of Indian food options available here. Did a direct walk-in with my brother, based on the Google reviews searching for Indian food options nearby, so visited here based on Google ratings and reviews did not disappoint. We tried Chicken Biryani and Lamb Biryani which was both served with a raita bowl, so specifically asked for making it indian spicy, but only extra Chilli flakes were added to make it spicy. Must say that it was a Good ambience and humble service. Perfect for a date night. Weekends can be pre booked by reservations, usually busy in evenings. No immediate parking available, would need to find some parking within city centre. Could get busy during weekends, so prefer advance bookings here. Would love to visit again.

We went for a family meal at Tamatanga Leicester.Restaurant was 75% empty, we wanted a window seat and we was asked to sit in the centre of the restaurant next to another family. We asked about the window seat again and staff stated all the window seats were reserved.Shocked to hear her reply I asked again stating we have just walked in and already not having a great experience.Staff member pushed 2 tables together and said she has the window seat available!? (Well that was quick)Ordered:3 x tama fries which are the best chips!!1 Chicken tikka masala,1 Punjabi butter chicken,1 Delhi lamb curry all with plain naans.Kids chicken nuggets and chips.Drinks:2 cocktails (Vandalur Bird), 1 mango juice and a sprite and a jug of water.Total £82.50.Nice atmosphere and got busier as the evening went on.Kids got crayons to use on the menu with a few activities to complete. The food was nice, indian food with a twist, Some nice staff, worth a visit. ?

A nice meal, however we were brought poppadoms over as if they were complimentary (which anywhere else they usually are) only to find out they were £8 once we had the bill. If we had know this we wouldn’t have accepted them. The food was lovely but I think pricing needs to be explained
