Busy well used pub, good value drinks, food is no frills and decent value. Was struggling to order food and drinks from the app as I had a poor signal and the Wetherspoons WiFi had not been working for a month apparently, which is not good, but service at the bar was quick from the friendly bar staff.Wheelchair accessibility: My mate in a wheelchair often joins us at this pub when we have a get together, wheelchair access is good, there's plenty of seating area without going to the step up or step down areas.

It's a big pub when you explore the staffs, work hard at the bar. It can get busy mid evening but you can get a spot. It has its local clients who like a good pint at a good price for a city centre pub.

Food was ok but the small portion for a full price is just not on! Won't eat there again..

Mccayler was an absolute darling , she was so lovely , genuinely felt like she was a friend rather than someone who was serving us , I cannot reccomend her more than anything she is so lovely and her service is on top :)

We visited The High Cross in August 2023. Set in a wonderful Grade II Listed building, the pub is quite spacious inside and traditionally decorated. There’s plenty of seating and a sunken seating area to the side of the bar with a number of pleasant bookshelf booths. Really nice enclosed beer garden but the men’s toilets were mid-refurbishment when we visited.Check out our website or visit our socials (@wethowanderers) to read our full review of the pub!Vegetarian options: Vegetarian and vegan options available.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options available.Parking: City centre location so parking is available but check prices before you park.Kid-friendliness: Family friendly pub.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible with downstairs accessible toilets.

A lovely gastro pub; went on a Tuesday afternoon and it was packed out, so a very popular place. Disability access in to venue is level access but can only sit on certain tables for mobility challenged due to many different levels of seating areas but all toilets are on level access, so this is great. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Crowd were nice, especially to my friend who has a learning disability. Had a nice meal with a drink for under a tenner!Wheelchair accessibility: Level access into venue including g disabled toilet but can only at certain tables as some of the seating areas are on different levels.

They always leave the front doors open even when it's cold outside. They says it's because the staff are hot. So now you know who comes first there!
