The Parcel Yard has gone to meet it's maker. It has climbed up the perch and snuffed it. If you want a drink here you need a TARDIS or a Time Machine. No beer here I'm afraid!

Was good but is now permanently closed as part of the Leicester station redevelopment

The Parcel Yard isPermanently Closed - in about June 2023. My local friends said it was the best real ale pub in Leicester. Apparently Netwrok Rail want to change the station entrance & it’s been applied for permission to be demolished. For reasons best known to them, the owners, Steaming Billy Brewery, still has an active FB page for it and TripAdvisor says (in Nov. 23 !) that it’s open but “not very busy”.Try the Marquis Wellington, Everards pub 139 London Rd., 1/4 mile up London Rd. from the Station, heading away from the city centre, on right before Victoria Park. Great ales & food, lovely old Edwardian interior & four summer-houses in the garden.

Architecture wise, it’s definitely a sad loss that this institution will be gone. Service wise, I’m not sure. We queued up, waiting at the bar to be served, and then one bartender totally skipped us for a white lady behind us. But she was a lady and asked us if we were served yet cuz she knew we weren’t. ??‍♀️ If I knew I had to bid farewell to this place on this note, I probably wouldn’t have come!

Great place to visit. Like all pubs & bars prices a little high due to inflation situation!

Great beer. Steaming Billy is the best. Pity it's being closed down.

A cavernous downstairs bar, beer garden, and odd nooks on the way to the exit. Right by the station. It was entirely devoid of the atmosphere, but I did visit on a Wednesday afternoon. Beer was acceptable.

£5.25 for a pint of San Miguel, a bit expensive, but the venue is quite chilled, big open bar. Friendly staff.

It's a great shame that the council wants to shut this place down, great outside area and open bar space. Need a pint before your train then go here.

Very friendly and nice drinks but the place is basically a dump and the toiletssmell.

Love this place. It doesn't look like much from the street entrance next to the station, but once inside you're greeted with a modern and spacious look and feel. Huge ceilings make it feel like an event having a pint. Food was great, hand made skinned fries with a lovely warm beef and cheese sandwich. Highly recommended.
