The fish was fresh and very tasty with right amount of crisp in the batter which didn't make it oily. The lady who served us was really lovely and welcoming even though we walked in half hour before closing time on a Sunday.

Decided to treat myself to a tray of tates chips as I was in town doing a spot of shopping, it was the worst tray of chips I've ever had, cold ,greasy and over cooked, Bob Tate was always the best in town , not anymore

I know when a business changes hands you can expect a few teething problems but the service and quality should remain high- sadly here neither was. The food had a very odd taste- like gone off- maybe it’s just the oil that needs changing but not pleasant. We were frequent visitors as we got great food all the time- now a little weary

Lovely fish and chip shop in Boston, popped in on a Saturday night for sausage and chips. The staff are really friendly and it was very quiet so I got served straight away. The food was.great with delicious chips.

Had a lovely mini fish and chips, thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were very friendly and the £6 price was a bargain.Added bonus that you can sit inside or outside.

BEWARE!! Had to come edit this reveiw as my friend who suffers celiac disease so ordered from the "gluten free" menu has been vilantly Ill! I didn't eat from here so no cross contamination was involved! I'll be reporting this business to trading standards and the local council.Origianl review- Staff rude chips tasted good tho still wouldn't return

OK, so sampled this little place on an overnight stop in Boston as we needed something quick and cheap to eat. Wish I'd gone to McDonald's instead.The service from the Greek guy was impeccable and nothing too much trouble, as you would expect from someone who obviously comes from the hospitality industry. Unfortunately for the business, it has an extremely arrogant, rude beyond any words could describe larger than large lady assistant that welcomes you with angry eyes and a grimiss and only like the regulars. Had I not already ordered and felt it only fair to proceed with the order I would have left (the British politeness, I'm afraid).The food was not as good as the photos displayed, so my compliments to the photographer. The fish was not cooked enough, and the chips were probably from the day before. But, at least we had take away as it would cost extra to eat in, although not signed anywhere to let you know this.You have been warned ⚠️

Its as good as it’s always been. Good size portions and friendly staff. I know ownership/management has recently changed which may have led to a few issues but it would appear all the creases are now ironed out

I accidentally found this place on way home from skeggy. Owner is so friendly and his food is amazing.. the oil he uses make this chips taste so nice and the fish was really fresh also the large sausage was perfectly well cooked. I'm coming back again

Dirty and rude little man from your sister pizza takeaway should be removed from the business. I attempted to call last night but talking to you was useless. I would be happy to remove my honest review if you respond. The food that we ordered yesterday was vile and it went straight to bin. You should be ashamed of selling food like this and treating loyal customers like dirt.Avoid Tates at all costs. A very sad day.

We ordered a full meal, missing food items , asked them to bring them to us and gave us a response of “We are too busy to send a driver to you” were refunded however one of us is sat without part of our meal, the women was rude too, really rude.
