Fantastic New Years eve spent in The White Hart, the staff were wonderful and although very busy service was second to none. The party in the bar hosted by Jive amour created a fabulous atmosphere and the dancing was the best fun ever.

We live locally and booked for Boxing Day lunch. The service really fell short of what we expected and have received in the past. We waited by the door of the dining room for over 10 minutes, despite being in plain sight of a young lady, who ignored us. Eventually, my Wife had to ask could we please be seated? After 10 mins we had to ask for drinks. Then our starters arrived. Still no drinks, I had to ask where they were. The young lady was polite, but oblivious to any urgency or of care when serving us. Never at any time were we offered more drinks and had to ask for coffees at the end of the meal. The food itself was nicely presented, well cooked and decent portions. The only criticism is the gravy and sauces should have been served separately and the whipped cream with the pudding was a tiny amount. But it fell short of a nice experience for us, we were made to feel at times like we were surplus to requirements. Management please get your act together and train your Staff. Ensure Customers do not stand waiting to be seated whilst having pitying glances from other diners. We want to come back, we do, but you need to convince us it will be a better experience.Keep the locals happy, in return for our support.Food & drinks: Well cooked, but service lacking on this occasion

A group of friends and I booked the "Glass room" in the white hart restaurant for a Christmas gathering. After arriving 5 mins early we waited a further 10 mins to be seated, then waited 45 mins for our drinks, before receiving our pre-ordered food an hour after our table time.. Further problems were presented when the waiter advised us that one of the starters was now off the menu as he had dropped it. Overall the food was "alright" but nothing out of this world. The service was friendly, but slow. "Sorry we are busy" was the explanation, "there is a big party upstairs" which was why we had to wait.Although nice to have the private room, there was a lack of ambiance, with the absence of any music piped in, leaving the feeling of eating in a library.Unknown to us there was another party waiting for the room, we were not advised of this by the staff but became aware when the next party entered and started putting their bags and coats down - we haven't even had the bill at this point ?Unprofessional and under prepared. A shame.

Great location with free parking and a good selection of breakfast options. Rooms are generally well kept and good value for money.

Nice hotel, the room wasn’t amazing and entrance courtyard could do with a bit of work. Tom and Gilly on reception are great!

Street racing all night. Did not sleep at all. If you know you are located in a busy area would you not look to soundproof the rooms? I would not stay here again.

Booked a one night stay via Travelzoo and were given a stunning Suite room on the first floor overlooking the road bridge and river. Surprisingly we were not kept awake with passing traffic. Breakfast served in the lovely Riverside Restaurant with self-service cereals, juices, pastries, toast and jam. Waitress brought pot of coffee and milk to the table and we chose hot food from the menu which was also brought to the table. Lovely, friendly staff and after breakfast we had a walk around the town centre before called into the hotel's lovely warm and cosy Eatery and Coffee House for a really tasty large latte before our journey onwards to Suffolk.Rooms: Stunning double suite room 102 with lovely views over the outdoor seating area and road bridge over the River Witham.Nearby activities: Short walk to St Botolph’s Church over pedestrian river bridge.Walkability: Right in the centre of Boston with private car park

Hotel is located within walking distance of the city centre and was warm & inviting with lots of original features, staff were very pleasant & helpful, room was spacious & spotless (very impressed with the en-suite bathroom). We only had the breakfast but couldn't fault it, had lots of choice & the waiting staff were on hand but not in your face.Rooms: Spacious, clean & great en-suitNearby activities: Walking distance to city centre amenitiesFood & drinks: Only had their breakfast but good choice & staff were very helpful

I was given a 1st floor room at the back of the hotel facing the carpark, probably the worst you can get. The room and bathroom was very nice and stylish but the mattress on the bed was uncomfortable. This is a old style hotel with creeky floorboards and single pane glass on windows, so my experience on a Friday night was not good, constantly being woken up after midnight by noise outside and guests returning to their rooms after visiting the nite clubs.Breakfast wasn't good either, there was only one member of staff catering for 15 guests, and I waiting 15 mins until I was able to get a pot of coffee, I decided against getting a full breakfast due to the wait time and got a sausage sandwich to go instead. Also to note, my Dad also booked a room for two nites, unfortunately he had a domestic emergency at home so was unable to go, and wasn't given a refund or a voucher to go another time.I only stayed one nite due to the noise and service, won't be going there again. On a positive note the hotel is in a great location by the River and town centre, with pubs, clubs and restaurants close by.Rooms: Avoid first floor rooms, the floorboards creek and the noise is very audible through the single pane glass, the corridors are very narrow and you here people walking by your room and closing doorsNearby activities: Lots of bars, pubs, restaurants and takeaways.Walkability: Be prepared to walk within the hotel, it has no lifts,so taking your belongings could be a strain when getting to your room if it's on the third floor, all other amenities outside the hotel are in easy reach.Food & drinks: Hotel has 2 restaurants, a bar, a coffee lounge, and function rooms with bars

Received some vouchers through the door as we live locally, decided to try the 'buy one get one free brunch' voucher, as we are pensioners and like to try and save some money if we can.We both ordered the Omelette with ham and a salad side.I found the Omelette almost inedible with the amount of salt. My husband finished it for me but did say it was extremely salty. They refunded the 'free' Omelette so we ended up paying as much as we would have anyway. We both felt ill all afternoon from the overload of salt.We won't be using the rest of the vouchers
