It was really busy, the cafe had ran out of hot food. But the cakes were nice. As it was so busy it service was slow snd chaotic.

Food is always amazing - we usually attend every week, but this time of year makes it difficult. Walk ins this time of year seem to be discouraged.

Had a gorgeous festive afternoon tea today for my friends birthday. Food was delicious and very different. Prawn cocktail to start, followed by turkey sandwiches with roast potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. Ending up with a selection of scones and cake. Bottomless tea and coffee. Waitress was very friendly and checked regularly to see if we needed refills or anything. Would definitely recommend. Loved it!

Lovey lunch today at the Secret Harden Tearooms, had a Ploughman's lunch then cake to take away. This is a really lovely cafe with a good menu, tasty food, friendly service and amazing cakes. What is also great is that the provide Vegan & Gluten Free options which are hard to find elsewhere locally. The location of Elsham Hall is stunning and there is plenty of parking available including disabled spaces.

Although the service was excellent, the tea itself was weak and tasted bland. We were expecting Taylors of Harrogate bags like the ones displayed, but both our teabags looked like unbranded round bags. The tea was also cold as the pots were not warmed. The afternoon tea was simple and pretty average with 2 kinds of vegetarian sandwiches and a few crisps.

There was a great deal of confusion about the booking (just lack of communication)- and a surprising degree of surprise at a request for diet coke to drink (!). The setting is nice and the loos are good.

Great little place. Well worth a visit to support this business rather than Starbucks!

What a wonderful place to visit. We had afternoon tea and then wandered around the lake and beautifully kept grounds. The food was amazing, reasonably priced and all allergies were catered for. (It's best to contact them prior to arriving to discuss dietary requirements.)A fabulous selection of foods, drinks and cakes available to either eat in or take out.Vegetarian options: Both vegetarian and vegan options available as well as gluten free/milk free.Best to give advance notice for this so that the kitchen can bake and prepare the right foods for your needs.Dietary restrictions: Gluten, wheat, milk free options available most of the time but to ensure a good choice of foods available, it's best to book in advance and let the staff know of any dietary requirements. The staff are very helpful and the food is amazing!Parking: Lots of parking available, even on super busy days as they open up the fields for parking.Kid-friendliness: Children's menu and drinks selections available.Wheelchair accessibility: Around the main courtyard the accessibility is good.Around the lake and footpaths it can get a little narrow and bumpy underfoot. We managed with a pram fairly easily.

Loved it, a hot afternoon tea made a lovely change to the usual cold one. The tomato and pepper soup was delicious, the little roast potatoes were a nice addition There was so much food that we all took some home in the cartons provided. Happy to recommend.
