Fantastic haddock & chips, lovely & friendly ladies cooking & serving tables. Difficult to rate the atmosphere as only my date & I were the only 2 people eating there, this week & last....!

Very nice food, the fish is nice and fresh. I would recommend to anyone who likes to have a trip out for fish and chips.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access for wheelchair users. Has a split door for all size wheelchairs.

Nice fish and chips and my friend also enjoyed her steak pie. My only criticism is that as with so many places too many chips both of us had to leave about half and we hate wasting food. Next time will try to get a child's portion size.

Really dissappointing. Table was free in the restaurant so sat down waiting to order. 2 adults, a 4 year old and 2 year old. A waitress served other tables yet we were completely ignored. I went up to ask how I order to be told that they weren’t taking orders anymore in the restaurant. I asked if I could use the take out part and still sit in the restaurant. By this point my kids were settled and had taken hats, coats and gloves off. I was told the prices were different so I wouldn’t be able to. Mentioned that I was happy to pay the restaurant prices, I just wanted to feed my kids as they were hungry but still no because the restaurant was closed. No signs anywhere and when I asked why, they said it was because they had too many pots to wash. Lots of other customers turned away! Definitely won’t be going back as had walked from the boating lake for something to eat!

The fish and chips was so good. The batter was crispy and not soggy, which I liked. Staff were very friendly too. Would definitely go back.

Extremely disappointed. I visit an elderly relative twice a year and rent a flat close to the Leaking Boot. For years I have used it for takeout fish n chips. The last few years it had 2 lovely ladies behind the counter who were friendly and helpful. I went in to order as usual and there was a man serving on his own. I waited whilst he saw to the customer in front on me ( I was a little concerned as he kept wiping his nose with the back of his hand), he then said he only had 1 sausage and chips left. I asked what time they closed and he said 7pm (Friday night!!) as it was 6-35 I asked if he could fry me 2 pieces of fish as it is usually cooked to order. He said no as the fryers had to be cooled before closing at 7. So in reality they don’t close at 7 they close much earlier and sell off whatever is left in the hot cabinets. There was no apology and no attempt to do anything for me, he just shrugged his shoulders. In this current economical climate where business have to work hard to keep the doors open, I was shocked and saddened by this attitude. I’ll find somewhere else in future .

The fish and chips were 10 out of 10 and a very fair price too. Peas and curry sauce could be improved on though. Marked down 1 start due to it taking an hour to get served. It was busy but felt that just one guy serving wasn't enough. Would definately go back.
