Food was nice enough and the service from Jake was exceptional! The attitude of his colleague how was horrific. We ordered the white bait and when it arrived asked if it came with any sauce as it was quiet dry. He simply said if it did it would be on the plate. We asked if maybe the kitchen had anything to go with it and he then replied I'm guessing not. Really rude and ruined an other wise lovely lunch.

GF fish and chips wonderful although they forgot the scraps. Mushy peas proper not like some of the local restaurants.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free option. Excellent batter

Great fish and chips, lovely staff in a fantastic location. It was super busy on New Year’s Day but the service was still pretty quick and the atmosphere was good. Great choice of portion sizes too.

We have been to this restaurant many times, but after today; never again. The service was dreadful. We booked on line and phoned to confirm the booking. they said we hadn't booked and booked us in. however I have since received an email confirming the booking. We arrived at 12.50 and ordered our food by 12.55. 13.35 still no food, yet others who came in after were finishing their meals. I summoned a staff member who went to investigate. She said on of the friars was out of action and they were struggling and the food would be another 5 to 10 minutes. by now we had enough and decided to demand a refund and leave. the staff member on the till said it was due to staff shortage. If you are going to lie at least make the lie the same.If a restaurant is struggling with demand then surely the sensible thing to do is turn away people who have not booked, saying you are full. Not keep cramming in people with the promise of food sometime this year. Then they refused to refund the amount to my credit card, they insisted that only cash refunds are given. I did not want cash, there is no excuse for not refunding a persons credit card.Afraid you have lost a regular customer.People only pass on praise to a select few, but criticism and complaints are broadcast far and wide. The apologies from the staff were very disingenuous, they really couldn't care less.

It’s not what it’s made out to be. The toilets were disgusting. no toilet roll, missing seats, the dryer was cold and the floor was gross. The drinks didn’t come until the meal came which meant by the time we had eaten the drinks were cold. The sauces came in pots with no spoon. The beans tasted cheap. The fish was okay but not fantastic. we had to queue up with all the walk ins even though we had booked. It was cold as well.

Despite the cold and biting wind outside, the inside was toasty warm but not intolerable. My husband and I went there from Knottingley (60 miles away) for his birthday lunch. We had brought the dogs to run on the beach, but they and we didn't like being sandblasted by the strong winds. The order taker/cashier was very friendly and polite, our food came fresh, hot and tasty. We took it back to our car to eat and share with the dogs. This is a birthday ritual for us, one we have started since returning to the UK. Thank you so much for being there, and being so extraordinarily delicious.

Lovely meal out! Staff very attentive and polite, especially the young lad who brought the food out. Food was spot on and portion size great ?Great view along the beach whilst eating ?Maybe just pips ‘Steels’ to number one spot in Cleethorpes! Jury’s still out on that one though.

Had the 2 course pensioners special which was great value for money. We loved the atmosphere and were fascinated by the decor and history of the pier. The staff were just lovely, very chatty and helpful. Will certainly be going back on our next visit to Cleethorpes.Wheelchair accessibility: I'd say this place is wheelchair accessible but there are a few doors to encounter. If you have someone with you to help then that's fine. I use a mobility walker and with my husband's help got through the doors OK. Once inside, there was plenty of room to manoeuvre and enough room at the tables to park a wheelchair, and in my case my walker.

I had a Papa's extra large haddock with chip, peas and a pot of tea. I enjoyed every bit of it but needed to remove some of batter as a personal preference. Highly recommended as this venue isn't like a standard 'chippy' but set in a ballroom ??Wheelchair accessibility: Parking was provided via a disabled parking spot very close to the pier but if taken you have to pay for parking ?️

Had seen other people's reviews on here so thought we'd give it a go and wasn't disappointed health portions and not badly priced. It was quite busy but it was a weekend but plenty of staff who were all friendly and helpful.

We decided to have dinner here for our daughters 7th birthday whilst we were staying at a local holiday park. The restaurant is beautiful! With a classic vintage style theme. We had the standard size fish and chips and honestly was more than enough (that’s coming from a rather rounded man) the fish was cooked to perfection and the batter light and fluffy no puddles of excess oil on the plate and the curry sauce was stunning. Even though it was rather late in the evening when we came for dinner and by the time we got round to pudding was past 9pm the staff all came to sing happy birthday to my daughter with more enthusiasm than I would of been able to muster after a long Saturday shift! Too top the evening off my delightfully dippy wife managed to leave her handbag at the table and walk all the way back to the car before remembering, on returning to the restaurant the staff had already called security at the holiday park we were staying at and arranged to bring the bag straight over which was so nice of them and definitely over and above! So if your staying in Cleethorpes and looking for somewhere nice to eat LOOK NO FURTHER for the price I was genuinely shocked at the quality, quantity and service we received thank you very much.
