Obviously family friendly! Loads included in the price the fair ground and swimming were particularly great. The premium food offerings were great also - tons to choose from for breakfast and again a nice variety for tea - a few more soft drinks at tea time would of been nice rather than just breakfast style apple and orange. Silver Style apartments also well equipped with microwave, oven, fridge/freezer, TV, iron and more! Would of been 5* but for this bubble machine breaking after 1 go for £8!

I had read so many bad reviews before coming here that I was stressed! But all was well. We stayed in a silver apartment which was basic but clean and quiet. Beds surprisingly comfy too. I would say it was newly carpeted too (although that made the doors too stiff which was annoying). We hired a cot and a highchair, both were good. Plenty to do here for wee kids, we were always busy. All staff friendly. Costa and Burger King both good. Entertainment is great. Splash pad was fab. Take flip flops to the pool. I think we will be back as the kids absolutely loved it.

Just back from a 7 day break. Had a great time. We booked the food court dining option and were allocated Coral Beech. Food was plentiful and lots of variety and is self service. Tasted good too. I generally had the roast dinner in the evening. Breakfast was also good. My only gripe is that the toast doesn't stay hot but thats not the staffs fault. Service here was OK, not fabulous but Isobel and 2 males called Dale stood out forme with their politeness and friendliness. Booking for entertainment seems to be the way forward, but the ques were annoying. Que early if you want a decent seat. My favourite shows were Queen, Musicals Rock (the 6 girls doing the song from SIX were amazing) and Goldilocks. All three a must see if you are going. We stayed on Breakwater. Room was fit for purpose, but not as clean as I would expect, but didn't let this hamper my stay. In my opinion there ate lots of little details getting missed. This needs a paint or that needs a paint. Might be nothing to some, but to some it is all about the detail. A lick of paint can make a place look fresh. Was only the two of us on this break, looks like there will be a group of us next time.

We visited Butlins in 2019, loved it and booked again for the next year before we left the resort. Our holiday was cancelled and so this year was finally us being able to rebook. Let me just start by saying that we are pretty laid back and try to find positives with our holidays. We do not complain unless we feel strongly as we have both worked in hospitality for over 15 years and we know how it all works behind the scenes, the stresses of understaffing, budgets etc. However... We made a 7 hour journey to Skegness. I expected maybe a basic room having booker standard (rather than the seaside and fairground rooms we had before). Basic wasn't the word for what we got. When we walked in it was the weirdest feeling. Almost like we had walked into someone elses house with grubby carpets, dust etc and they had popped out to the shops. If it hadn't been for the clean bath mat I would have questioned whether cleaners had been in at all. The water glasses had actual mouth marks. Not the sort left behind by lipstick that remain after the dishwasher, but actual dirty mouth marks. The shower had the previous occupants shower gel and hair in it. Down the sides ot the toilet and wall was covered in tiny hairs... Which extended to the floor and right in to corners which looked like they had last been cleaned months ago. Now I'm not Mrs Hinch, my house is a 'normal' clean and lived in but when I stay somewhere I expect to not stand on other peoples cast off hairs around the loo and I definitely do not want my young children standing on them. I used the app to contact guest services to ask for a re-clean. Very easy to use and they were very quick sending along cleaners. I did overhear them say that something was 'fine' and that they wouldn't be cleaning that. They did remop the floor and wipe down the shower which did help but the shower door had so much rust that it was difficult to even see what was clean. The cleaners did ask if it was ok before they left and I did say yes, but I knew that it needed a deep clean and its not what they had been sent to do. I cleaned it all myself when they left and even then it still felt filthy. The cleaners arranged for a maintenance person to come fix the cupboard door in one room which was hanging on by one hinge out of 3. It was done very quickly while we were at dinner and our beeping smoke detector replaced quickly also so no complaints where maintenance are concerned. Everything else on resort was great. The entertainment team are so talented especially the actors who play Fifi la Frump and Joey in the panto. The whole performance of Goldielocks was a joy to watch, we went along twice and the kids had great fun booing the bad guy. Peppa pig, PJ masks and Thomas were all in Studio 36 and good fun for the little ones. We went to see Jay and Joss one night, sadly it was cancelled due to an accident on stage but the redcoats made the night fun for the kids with dancing and games. We found the fairground plenty for us. Our 7 year old got on all rides and our two younger children had fun at the Little Stars fairground. All 3 asked over and over to go to the little stars playground to play in the tunnels and grass slides as though there was nothing else to do. Its a very clean little playground and they never had to wait for a turn on any of the rides or play equipment. Splash waterworld was my kids favourite thing about their holiday. We swam every day and I lost count of the amount of times I had to go head first down the rapids for my 7 year olds entertainment! The life guards have fun with the kids, splashing them etc. The toddler pool is warm and my nearly 2 year old and 4 year old adored the slides in that pool. They were a good aternative to the larger slides. The only downside is the walk down from the pool to the changing rooms. The path is slippy and because the texture is grainy, I witnessed multiple kids (including my 1 year old) slip while holding their parents hand and take the skin off their foot. We had booked the food court dining plan. Having ea

Why do we do this too ourselves. We wanted to scatter my step dad’s ashes and as they had previously owned a caravan at Butlin’s decided it would be nice as his final send off. The accommodation is appalling, tired and in desperate need of work. The staff try their hardest but really this resort is a major let down for Butlin’s. Having stayed in the West Lakes accommodation in Minehead it made Skegness look like a poor man’s holiday camp. For Gold Accommodation and the cost we paid you would expect more. The CEO of the Butlin’s really needs to stay in one of the rooms, and too top it off some scum bag keyed our brand new car. So if you want a decent break with your children and drive a new car do not go to Butlin’s Skegness - even the locals agreed the whole area is too be avoided but what is the saying ‘You Pay for What you Get’

Where to start, OK firstly they say pay one price then all the entertainment is free? not so, Lets start with the so called fairground that is advertised as free. There are 6 attractions on the tiny fairground site, 4 of which where considered old when i was a kid. I was born in the sixties by the way. The other 2 , Go carts will cost you £6 per person, and trampolines of all things will also cost you £6 per person. This coupled with the fact that the free rides are open for about 2 hours a day, you will only need 20 mins like but you know what i mean. There is a climbing and high wire area located in another part of the park but this will cost you £15 per person. In the same are there is crazy golf and this will also cost you £6 per person to play. Moving on, another massive disappointment is the condition of the whole place it is so drab and run down, the chalets are a disgrace, the skyline pavilion is heaving up and falling apart. Surely Butlins can stretch to a few tins of paint, you will see what i mean if you go. On to the bars If you can find a one open, most close around 9ish, Beer prices are extortionate, food prices even more so, thats if you can get any. On our recent trip one evening there was no food available at any of the venues. It is such a shame to see that a British holiday park icon like Butlins has been let go and so run down it could easily be mistaken for Pontins. Save your money folks and go camping you will be more comfortable, have better food and will have lots more to do.

Fantastic holiday fantastic time and all of your staff was brilliant. The ride attendants waving at my daughter having fun. The pool chaps spinning us on the ring and joking with us. The security guards greeting us on the way in was brilliant and waving us off when we left. All the cleaners and gardeners was so helpful. All the restaurant staff was brilliant. The shows was great. And we had the weather. To much to do so we will have to book again. Thank you to all of you for making our holiday brilliant

We stayed in a 3 bed gold apartment in mermaid court. The apartment was very dirty all through. There were numerous cigarette butts outside both doors and my grandson found burst balloons behind the bin and under his bed. There was sick splashed up one of the panel’s separating the kitchen to lounge area. The sofas were stained and dirty, all the wood work was dirty and walls and radiators stained. There was an awful smell as soon as we arrived that was like rancid milk so we pulled out the fridge and cleaned the dirt and dried milk off the floor underneath it but the smell remained. The oven was dirty and cupboard door and handles were dirty. Our back door lock only locked at the top which made it very difficult to do and only my husband could do it. Housekeeping came to empty our kitchen bin on day 2 then again on day 6 of 7 to empty the bin and hoover the lounge carpet. Pointless really when we were leaving the next day. The apartment spoiled our stay and definitely put us off booking again.

Their literally was something for everyone. Amazing food. The staff couldn't do enough and were literally nice were ever you went. Activities for all ages and the red coats in the evening topped it all for us as a family. Booked again for next year

We visited Butlins for the first time in June 2022. I can honestly say i have never been treat so poorly in all my life. We booked for tots week as we had been recommended by one of our friends who had visited for many years. We arrived on site at around 2PM on the Monday and was told although we could use the facilities we could not get into our room until 5PM. Brilliant that you can use the facilities however not been able to check in until this time makes the first night difficult. We booked the Premium Dining and was not aware this was 4:30PM - 7:00PM and then the childrens disco was at 7PM. This made it difficult to eat, get back to the apartment to unpack then back out for the disco at 7PM. Anyway we went for breakfast on the Tuesday and although i was disappointed that they advertise that they offer alternatives for food allergies and we notified them in advance, they do not offer any gluten free options. The selection of food for my little boy and husband was brilliant but not so for myself. The shows were abs brilliant. We booked to see Thomas & Friends. The swimming baths were bigger than expected however found them a little disappointing for my little one. Theres was not much for my little boy other than a small toddler pool. We went for evening meal and again i struggled as no gluten free options. Anyway, fast forward to Weds and i developed serious food posioning. I was so ill i had to attend an Urgent Treatment Centre. I phoned Butlins Customer Care the Wednesday tea time. I was very friendly and made it clear i was not logging a complaint however felt i had a duty to inform them of food posioning. I was told i could not prove i had caught food poisoning from Butlins even though i advised them i had not eaten at home since Sunday morning. She then went onto to tell me as i had D&V i had to vacate the premises immediatley unless i could proof it was food poisoning. She said to do this i had to leave the premises immediatley and request for my GP to send off a stool sample. I explained i lived 2 hours away and this was not possible to do. She advised these were my only options but doesnt make sense. I was threatened to be escorted off the premises by security. I informed her i was too ill to travel. She advised if i remained on the premises i would not be entitled to compensation and had to isolate for 48 hours. Also my little boy and husband also had to isolate. I told them they had no symptoms but as i could not prove it was food poisoning (although diagnosed by a doctor) with a stool sample they had to isolate. She went onto say if it was food posioning my husband and boy would also be ill but i tried to explain due to my allergies i ate separate to them. She told me if my husband and boy wouldnt isolate they would be vacated from the premises by security. Fast forward to Thursday they then made numerous calls and emails to make sure we were isolating and were told we were not able to leave the apartment under any circumstances. How was my husband and little boy supposed to eat for 2 days??!! On Friday i was told i would be refunded partially for the food package however even after multiple emails i have still not received a refund. I tried to explain that although we did remain in the apartment and the price included the entertainment we were not able to use any of the facilities, shoes, swimming etc for 3 days they have still refused to offer any reinbursement or compensation. The issue is not the refund but the way i was treated. I developed food poisoning from their restaurant and my holiday was effected by that but to be told i have to leave the premises with no refund is disgusting.

I am writing this half way through our stay. I can’t say it has been the best holiday so far! When we arrived we were all super excited until we realised the accommodation is absolutely miles away from any facilities or the main area of the camp. The apartment we have is family sized as there are 6 of us, my wife and our four kids. However, the seating area we have only has seating for four people…We are encouraged to book activities and get everything the kids want to do has been booked out months in advance. The apartment we are in had a broken safety chain (since fixed), a couch held windows together with Black Tape, the noisiest fridge I’ve ever heard, a hole in the wall of one bedroom, red wine stains down a wall and on the carpet as well as a radiator that keeps slowly sliding down a wall as there is no bracket behind it.Lots of families in the area which means lots of noise which is fine during the day. There are signs up saying be respectful and yet it seems every child in the UK is playing past midnight outside the bedroom window! Finally, the beds are all rock solid so you end up just tossing and turning all night. Would probably have been better to sleep on the floor. The food is good though, the swimming is very fun and the entertainment is top notch.

Adult weekends are not disability friendly, especially Studio 36 which has no seating

Great holiday for kids, amazed at how much was free for my son to do. Shows were great, easy to find your way around. Rooms score a 3 because our check in time was delayed to 5pm by the site but we found our apartment had not been cleaned in several places. We would return again for another holiday.

We did the tots break and it was absolutely fantastic. Came with our almost 4 year old and 5 month old. The accommodation was better than expected and the facilities are amazing. It has been none stop with shows and activities. All the staff have been lovely. Really fantastic holiday that we were sad to leave!
