Food and staff were fine. The place was freezing. Our last visit there.

We were greeted by a very helpful member of staff called Alan, who very carefully and thoroughly went through the relevant allergies and ingredients on the menu. They even gave us our own cutlery so as to cause no contamination. We sat in the family area which was fine, though some of the music was a bit grating at times. The nsn serving the carvery was friendly and helpful, the food was good. Staff at bar friendly and there is the option to refill you coffee and tea cups as much as you like. We even had a vegan chocolate torte for afters, which was a pleasant surprise. Ample parking. Marked it down a star, as the toilet s not very clean, loo roll on the floor and one of the ladies toilet doors didnt have a lock. So we had to hold it for each other. Apart from that we had a great time.

Went here for the first time, to celebrate my friends birthday. We received a very warm welcome and showed to the table. We ordered at the bar,and sat having a drink until the food came. Lovely food, nice and hot. My friend Bob has a Brewers Fare card with which they do amazing deals inc a free meal on your birthday. I have my own card now and look forward to making good use of it. Go and try it,highly recommended. Paul Graves

After waiting for about 45mins after ordering Mon lunchtime, I decided not to risk eating the obviously undercooked gammon (photo shows it after sending it back to be put under the grill for another five minutes).

Food as expected from Brewers Fayre, the meet and greet staff need to lighten up a bit though, especially when you have had to find your own table because they are not there when you arrive, and then insist on checking the table isn't booked, despite it being completely empty apart from you.

Festive menu uninspiring, Turkey dinner far too much food. Reheated roast potatoes and parsnips, carrots and peas dull and unappealing.Staff were nice, but we won't be back! ☹☹☹

I thought the service was a little slow and the food could have been hotter. Which was a shame because if those things were addressed it would have been lovely. They were not particularly busy either.

Held our Christmas meal here last night and was 10/10. All the staff were working really hard as it was really busy. But still smiles all round. Enjoyed it that much we are planning another party in January. Thank you team Gateway ?

Waited ages to be seated . When ordering food, no one was behind the bar, and we again waited far too long. Food was less than average tepid chips, weird dressing on salad and over cooked hot dog. Won't be going there

Quite possibly the most disappointing meal I have ever had. I chose the Festive Turkey dinner. We were a very large table of 19 ? 6pm reservation on 03/12/23. The service was very good considering how many of us there were but they managed to forget my grandsons order. I can accept that because these things can happen and the lady that served us was extremely apologetic, giving him a free drink by way of apology...fair enough. But my meal...cold soggy Brussels...a long blonde hair ? in my roast parsnips, the carrots looked ....burnt ? The skin on roast ? potatoes were soggy and luke warm, I didn't touch the peas or the mash potato as they looked lumpy and dry respectively. I ate the turkey slices, the Yorkshire pudding, a couple of parsnips, tried a couple of carrots...I left the rest. I didn't stay for the dessert that came with the order. I won't be back here ever again. I don't know what is going on in your kitchens but I am intrigued to know how anyone can let such a poor standard of food go out to a customer. And before anyone says ' why didn't you bring it to our attention while you were there? ' I didn't want to embarrass my daughter ( who had organised the event for her autistic son's 18th Birthday ) and quite frankly I just wanted to leave at that point. Sorry for the lengthy explanation but I want anyone reading this to be sure it's a fair and honest review. ?

Staff were very polite and good food. The festive burger was very tasty with sliced turkey added. I went with 2 young children and we didn't book but they went out of their way to accommodate us. Children enjoyed their meals also along with a generous

Went for family meal on a Friday evening was nice and quiet . Fast service only down fall was myself and father in law both had the smothered platter for the price u would have thought to get a bit more than we did , also my portion was a lot smaller than his. Althou I didn't mind as was just enough for myself there was a massive difference in the two portions of the same platter. They brought my daughter's meal out wrong but was quick to get it re cooked for her with the correct items on it. Pleasant place they even out balloons and banners up for the mother in law for her birthday. Which I thought was lovely of them . Would recommend

I was sure I had reviewed The Gateway Park and given it 5⭐️ following our first visit in July when we had a most enjoyable meal. We have been several times since and, in September, booked a table for two for Christmas Day, leaving a deposit of £20.We have now had an unexpected invitation to spend Christmas with friends in Kent. I have just spoken to a very nice lady at The Gateway Park to explain and to cancel our reservation. I asked if we could transfer our deposit over to when we come in for a meal some other time. She asked her “Team Leader” who would not accommodate our request. As I knew our table would immediately be “sold” to someone else, I told her not to cancel and keep our reservation in the event perhaps bad weather might stop us going to Kent. How short sighted of the “Team Leader”. I doubt very much if we will have lunch there and if he had credited us with our £20, he would have gained that back plus the balance due on the day of £87.98p plus drinks. Plus, with that attitude, I doubt if we will dine there again.NB. Just found on their website, if you cancel before 6th December, you will be given a full refund!UPDATE: Rang The Gateway and asked to speak to “Team Leader” whose name was Kali. I referred her to my phone call of 10minutes prior where she had refused a refund or a credit. She confirmed I could not have this. I then read out the terms and conditions regarding cancellation. Silence. I asked her “what do you think to that”? She hung up! Having had several 5⭐️ B & Bs and been Show Director for a large Equestrian Centre in Kent, I am glad none of my staff acted in this deplorable manner.
