Bland , definitely not what we ordered. Eventually I got through to the "Owner", and he informed me that " I've been in this business for 30 years". Which was his excuse for undercooked food. Good luck if you choose the modern over every other decent Indian takeaway in Lincoln.

We didn't pay a huge amount for our take away but just a bit disappointed by the amount of chicken in both the korma and the Rogan Josht. Far more liquid content than ever. Korma lacking in taste.Smaller rice portions too. Bit disappointing but still acceptable.

We ordered through just eat.... awful! Tikka masala was the worst and most bland I've ever eaten, korma may aswell of been a coconut yoghurt, naan undercooked and doughy, poppadoms stale ans not crisp....for the very little I ate last night I have had horrendous stomach cramps and gastro issues through the night .... Will never order from here again.

Got a delivery from modern tandoori on and it arrived well over an hour late. We had to wait outside for 25 mins in the cold as the driver couldn’t find where we live which is in a really obvious location. The food arrived and we didn’t receive what we paid for. We ordered a chicken tikka masala and it turned up as plain chicken (definitely not tikka) in a bland tasteless sauce which was riddled with water. Please don’t waste your money here, I wanted a refund but they are refusing.

Really nice food, good value, they know what they are doing. Had a Shisora lamb dish, it’s very spicy and a lovely gravy - recommended if you like spicy. Garlic Nan was fresh, they must have a decent tandoor. I’ll be back for sure.

It's a very friendly and calm place with locals eating. Personally I found the chicken to be tough and not soft like it should be. We both suffered from acid later which suggests not the best quality ingredients. The food presentation was good. The staff did walk up and down the middle of the restaurant quite a lot and took your plate just as you finished so it felt a bit like the next customer...rather than just let you take your time. We are still finding our feet in a new area so maybe we will be more lucky with food next time.

My partner and I had a meal here on the evening of 23/11/23.The food and service were excellent.We both thought the curries were a little spicier than the same curry would be elsewhere, but it wasn't an issue.We would visit again and recommend to others.

When do you give a restaurant 5 stars?Does that mean it cannot be bettered?I give this one 5 stars for value for money. Very good meal for humble money. Seems to be the locals favourite. We had pappadums and chutneys, chicken madras, garlic naan, bombay aloo, tarkha daal and mushroom pilau. All excellent. Nothing not to like.

We won 2 free meals here after they generously donated this as a raffle prize for a local kid's charity, for a race night at The Imp and Angel.They did not skimp on the food despite it being freebie.I had a Shashlik Lamb dish and my wife had chicken pasanda. Both were amazing. My lamb was tender and delicious.Modern have earned us as future costumers. We will definitely go again soon.

We got here a bit early and were the only customers in the restaurant... I think we struck gold as the food was of excellent quality and was virtually coked only for us and was a treat. We went for a Bhuna lamb and a Balti mix . The meat was all nice and tender but the sauces were "da scarpetta" ( sicilian way of claening up your plate with bread - naan in this case) . I recommend this place without any hesitation and will come back if ever in Lincoln again. Come here early and enjoy a good meal.
