We came to celebrate my twins Birthday. 8 of us. Overall the meal was OK. The roast dinner was awful. I mean I cannot express how bad. With drinks and meal we spent £300 in total. The drinks were overpriced at £2 50 a glass of coke when they used to be refillable. £6 a chicken starter with not even a handful of chicken. Disgusted, used to eat there all the time but will never return, gone down hill as a restaurant. Uses to have 2 for 1 on meals , specials board , refillable drinks and quality food. Now it's a rip off without the quality. The roast was a choice of Beef, Chicken or Turkey but no beef left. Went for the chicken which was dry. Not enough gravy and what there was was stodgy. The meal was cold. The veg and Yorkshires cold and overcooked, the roast potatoes dry and the stuffing was so dry and hard it was inedible. I didn't eat most of it and I did complain. I got a desert free but was left hungry and feeling ripped off.

Everything better than expected for £45pn. Very clean room and bathroom. Heating eventually bought the temperature up! Had a good surf and turf plus a veggie curry spiced up with some jalepinos on the side served by pleasant and helpful staff. Needless to say Pedigree on hand pumps but also plenty of other choice. Came Jan 1st and the place was pleasantly busy by 19:30 . Would certainly recommend staying and eating here.

Went to a Christmas Do at Woodcocks and had the Turkey roast. There were about 17 of us and we had pre ordered so the servers were quick and organised. The food was hot and plentiful. Matt and Claire are brilliants hosts so we go every year for our do. We live locally so go on a regular basis.

Arrived to a pre- booked meals chosen all meals before arriving , very quick to take order for drinks then we had to wait 1.20 minutes for the starters to arrive , I went to see the waitress about it to be told the are very busy but we had pre - ordered all our food . We had two children in the party and was very hungry starters arrived . main course was then along while to arrive after the starters had been eaten again had to go and ask where the main meals was ,to be told they was on the way . Other people had arrived after our party was served with there meals before us . The meals was not of good quality very poor standard the lamb shanks was swimming in gravy was very runny bad not hot , the Turkey dinners came without are roast potatoes and agin I had to find someone to check on this, was told oh yes you should have roasts with the meals they came and brought some nearly as the meals had been eaten . In total the meal came to £.271 for a very low standard of quality and service , I was asked as I paid was everything ok , to my reply that I was not pleased with the meal and service to say sorry but you can send feedback also I was not given a receipt for my meal to check what I was paying for was correct . I would like someone to call me concerning the issues of this complaint Click

My wife and I recently went to the Woodcocks with friends for our Christmas meal. The food and service were great. The restaurant has a really nice ambiance and we are definitely planning to go again very soon.

Our golf society held our Christmas party at Woodcocks and several of us had booked rooms too. What a great venue! We were made most welcome by smiling, helpful staff. The food was great, atmosphere conducive for a party and the rooms superb. Breakfast pretty good too, with lots of options. We'll be back next year for sure.

Night out with the missus, had the mixed grill and sirloin, both cooked to perfection. Good choice of lagers too, nice to see Cruzcampo in draft. Staff are always friendly. Keep it up!

A fantastic Christmas 3 course menu. We started with prawn cocktail and cheesy mushrooms. So many prawns! Such good value for money. The turkey dinner was presented beautifully and piping hot. Tasted delicious. Christmas burgers tasted fabulous.. 2 burgers with pulled chicken topped with pigs in blankets and stuffing. Finished with sticky toffee pudding. Huge portion served with vanilla ice cream. We visit the woodcocks regularly and we're never disappointed. Great value pub food. Nice atmosphere and friendly team. Well done all.

Well, what can I say breakfast with Santa was amazing. Matt, Kelly and the team were incredible nothing was too much trouble for them. The entertainment for the children was brilliant, the food was good, service was great, the whole package was excellent.
