Great pub which still holds it's character, modern inside, clean great selection of drinks and the Sunday roast was spot on!Kid-friendliness: Kids park next to the car park and food options available

This is a difficult one for me to Review but here goes. Made a booking for 2 ppl and a large dog. The table we were given had the Kitchen on the left, the toilets on the right and the bar in front, literally no where for our dog, staff and customers we constantly having to step over or around our dog so I was constantly trying to move her out of ppls way. We ordered a Chardonnay and pint of Neck Oil, neither of these drinks were available. That said the pub is lovely, the staff were great and the food delicious our order came out pretty quickly. Such a shame they did not take our dog into consideration when we specifically let them know we were bringing a large dog had they done this it would have been a much better review.

Food was OK but they seemed very short staffed and communication was lacking. We waited 40 minutes to order our food and then another hour for our food to arrive. A lot of people were getting quite restless and first drinks were quick but there was no service after that unless you asked for it. Sounds like a one off based on other experiences.

Easy to understand why it gets good reviews when you try the food.

First visit, ordered the burger with extra cheese, the meat was relatively dry and there was no cheese to be seen. Second burger was much the same. Other than that everything else was very nice!

Wow what a hidden gem, been for many a pub meal but this was beyond expectation. Hubby had scampi, I had the fish pie and daughter had the steak and ale pie - all excellent. Yes slightly pricey but you’re getting quality, the service was excellent too. Can’t wait to go back to try the Sunday lunch! 10 out of 10 for us.

8 of us visited for a family birthday and had the Sunday roast. ? ( 4 had beef, 2 had pork, and 2 had Gammon)The food was amazing, and there was plenty of it and loved the huge gravy boat. ?..veg came in side dishes which is fab as not everyone likes the same veg. Service was friendly and not pushy. Definitely value for money. Lovely pub and atmosphere ? oh and dog friendly. ?Thank you, Nigel and team.
