After hearing many good things from work colleagues I visited for lunch last week….Seems my work colleagues are poor food critics….Chips had a chewy outside/skin rather than crispy (tasted old like they’d been sat). Drinks £1.20 for a can ?? and regular chips nearly two quid a bag ?!Will be trying Savages in Caistor next time, Micks have set a low bar indeed

Went in on the off chance, after driving home from Lowestoft. It’s the best fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time. Great service, small portions if you choose. Best in areaParking: You have to park in Caistor Market Place so it’s first come first serve, not always full. But well worth the parking issues. You can always park on the other side of the market or on main road

Chip portion tiny and chips tonight were like scraps and probably from lunch time! Not Good!

The medium tea time fish chips and peas special was superb. The quality was outstanding, and had change from a tenner for two meals. I have paid almost double this for similar locally, and of inferior quality, well worth the ride out from Brigg
Chips are much better than their rivals Savages. Good colour and flavour on them. And at least a decent amount of salt. However, what let's them Mick's down is the portion sizes. A large chips was barely the equivalent to a small portion from Savages!! I usually split a large chips between 2 of us, but their portions where so small it just wasn't possible, and they can't even argue that their prices are cheaper to reflect the small portions, cause they just aren't. So while pleased with the food itself, they seriously need to do something about the stingy helpings and not ripping us off!!

We were returning from a short break in York on our way to Cambridgeshire when we stopped in Caister for lunch . We had the medium haddock and chips. The food was very good and the value for money was exceptional. It was almost half the price of our local chippy
