This pub is part of the "Sam Smith's" chain. The owner Humphrey Smith is an absolute Mazda. So far removed from society and clueless. He screwed over his workforce during COVID.Sam Smith's pub are a little cheaper than an average pub but there standards are terrible. Average at best food and just there own beer available. Please don't feed this chain, the UK will be better without Sam Smiths. From the Brewery;banned CHILDREN - alongside digital devices, dogs, muddy boots, music and swearing

The pub looks amazing, the beer selection is superb, but the atmosphere was deeply unpleasant. For a pub which has a prohibition on swearing, to hear the barman swearing his head off and encouraging others was a surprise. Just a level of malevolence to make you want to get the hell out. A pity, as I'd like to have stayed and perhaps gone on the tour.

Fantastic atmosphere of old English Inn. House beer and taste food.

this is a great setting, really nice venue. This was a fairly brief visit but there will be more. The food was nice and there is more I want to try.

Real ale at a very good price, food is lovely, well cooked and generous portions. Staff are friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend a visit and meal in here.
excellent beer at £2.00 a pint good grub at very reasonable prices, Liver and bacon and sausage and mash are excellent. Friendly service

Very interesting tour of an historic brewery. We enjoyed a varied and tasty buffet afterwards. Good for group visits.

Have been in hear before sometime ago and it was iffy then. The food today was okish, Steak & Kidney pie looked like a Pork pie, the crust so rock hard, Mash potatoe was okish, Cabbage was water logged, Carrots & Calibree were ok. Grilled Chicken, chips & veg okish. The young lass who was serving behind the bar was swearing and getting to familiar with the customers that were in there.

Good food, good beer and friendly service in a pleasant and distinctive pub at a very reasonable price. Visited in April 18 and still good.
