Stopped off during a walk around Stamford for afternoon tea. Excellent service and tea. Nothing was too much trouble.

Attended a family function at the hotel. Buffet was plentiful and good quality. Staff were helpful and attentive. .

Went for family lunch, food was lovely but it was so cold sitting next to the window, they need more heating as was only one radiator for a big room and the fire althoigh was added to when we were there was very poor with a few tiny logs on it, I came out frozen !Food & drinks: Enjoyed our food but plates and food soon went cold due to the very chilli dining room with one radiator and a measly fire.

Their EV charger is listed as 'public' on the Pod Point app. I used it and was fined over £100, despite paying to use it. The hotel was no help and the private parking company were punitive when I pointed out that it was listed as a publicly accessible parking point. Very disappointing.

Great place for afternoon tea, we made use of the private dining facilities which were really nice and well

Met a friend there for a drink. The service was fine and the drinks lovely but it wasn't very clean. The layers of dust and detritus stacked up behind the wine rack, which was being used, left both of us feeling that we wished we had met at The George! Definitely need to get the vacuum cleaner out!

Staff are very attentive and proactive when things go amiss. The hotel is on a very busy road and many of the bedrooms are roadside. Breakfast was very good with a wide choice. A pleasant walk into Stamford and close to Burleigh House. Great market on a Friday.

Popped in for a few afternoon drinks with friends and we were greeted by Rachel. What a lovely lady, very welcoming great service and took the time to chat with us. Great asset to any business.

We booked a mid week break at The William Cecil hotel and were really looking forward to our visit. Everything went very well until we got to our room, which we felt was very underwhelming, although the room was clean it felt very basic, no artwork on the walls and a TV that was too small for the size of the room. The decor was very tiered and needed updating badly, we were at the front of the hotel and the road outside was really busy and even though there was secondary glazing the noise was quite noticeable. Getting connected to the internet was also a challenge, but we finally managed to connect to the internet after about an hour’s messing about. On day two, we noticed on the landing growing through the top of a window there were several sprigs of ivy. after spending a lovely day shopping in Stamford, we got back to our hotel room to find the bed hadn’t been made, the cups were still dirty from our morning cup of tea and to cap it all, the TV didn’t work, i reported this to reception at 7:15 and by 10:15 no one had come to repair the TV, they hasn’t even come to let us know they wouldn’t be able to come. We won’t t be visiting this hotel again, this hotel feels like a 2/3 star hotel with ambitions of being a 4 star hotel. Must try harder much harder.

The perfect wedding venue! We simply fell in love with The William Cecil, on our first visit we knew this was the place where we wanted to get married. The setting was perfect and the food was delicious, all of our guests LOVED the food! Every single member of the team there worked hard to make sure we had the day we wanted, the day was everything we imagined it would be and more. Nothing was ever too much trouble, Amy was patient and understanding throughout our entire planning process, she supported us in every aspect of the day and helped execute our day perfectly. We cannot recommend this venue enough, a great place to eat and stay but especially as a wedding venue. We wish we could do our day all over again.
