We went on Friday, for a pizza, we had no expectations as what can go wrong with pizza! We ordered pepperoni feast and a margarita. The pepperoni feast had one piece of pepperoni per segment. The margarita came some time later and was covered with barbecue sauce. By the time it was redone my husband had well finished his. The waitress told us it was because it was a new chef!! (Quite concerning, if they can't get basic pizza right) No apology either!!

Visited on Christmas Eve with my nan and family. No Christmas atmosphere. No music, No Christmas table decorations. Place was empty, only about 2 other tables of unfortunate souls (who i guess, like us also booked too late to get a spot at Toby's) during our entire visit. I now realise why it was the only place with ALL spots available to book 2 weeks before christmas (I will be more organised next year and get a spot elsewhere).Food was mostly edible but not really very nice, nor did it look appealing (carvery looked like it had been sat there a week, most likely had seen as there was no other customers). The kids pizza were terrible looking and tasting too, so they got left. My nan was not amused at all the entire time, and she let us know it. The yorkshire puddings had a weird taste that i can only describe as being like wet dog.Upon entering there was no one there to greet us so we found our table (and the rest of our family) ourselves. Didnt really see any other staff after that except when ordering at the bar and when they brought out the kids pizza (which im fairly sure they giggled at how bad they looked but still served them anyways).I now understand the sympathetic looks i got whenever i mentioned to people where we were going for Christmas eve to eat beforehand and the giggles i get since when telling people how it went.I wouldnt return. Absolutely awful.Parking: Plenty of parking as it looks like everyone who has already eaten there before......avoids going back.

Very dissapointed cold food and cheap frozen burgers! Chicken burger was too hard for my child to bite through! Bar staff very helpful an apologetic. Would not recommend even if it was free!

Went yesterday for Christmas Dinner for 4 people. We paid £200 and it was nowhere near worth the money. As soon as we arrived the blonde woman at the booking desk greeted us like we were a hindrance. We were not shown to our table just pointed to the area and had to find our own table. The poor bar person was on her own with a bar full of customers to serve. We had to go find out where our pre-ordered starters were after 30 minutes. After finishing our starters we went to collect our mains from the carvery. Then, we retirned to the table which still had our starter plates on that we then had to remove ourselves. No Christmas music was played throughout dinner so there was no atmosphere. All of a sudden 3 or 4 staff descended upon our table to bring out desserts as it was soon closing time. This was the most staff we'd seen in the whole time we'd been there. We don't blame the staff at all, it is down to management not putting enough staff on on the day and not planning for people to have an enjoyable Christmas dinner. The only saving grace was that the food was nice.

What a tragic service from start to end. Sadly the food and drinks was the main reasons for this. After been there to watch a football match (23.12.2023 ), where I decided to grab something to eat - I went home so pleased. I even praised the chef personally for the best ham and pineapple pizza I've eaten. However, change the chef and the horror show becomes real... I decided to order the same, why not? I was handed a pizza with bacon on it, which is not what the menu said. I notified the bar staff about this, and she checked with the chef. He told her that this is the standard. After a bland and slightly burnt pizza, I went to the bar staff to point out that bacon whilst from same animal, is not ham and is it not what the menu states. She then got an attitude. Also pointed out the the pulled pork is not on the Philly Cheese option - as this is beef and from a different animal, she got more snappy. I then pointed out that this was not helpful and that she should take my comments as constructive feedback. No help on the attitude, and to believe that we also tipped beforehand on the Web order shows this to be a severe poor solution Not too worry, I will not ever buy food there again, and will ensure family and friends do not either. Costly solution for them, easy for me. Happy new year!

Booked breakfast with santa 11 till 12 ,only for the breakfast to finish half way through my booking ,so I approached a member of staff ,I assume it was a senior member and explained situation to which I was told breakfast never runs till 12 ,I explained that is not what was advertised to which I was told , I don't do the advertising but santa is here till 12 ,what a joke take some responsibility for the company you work for ,was much better last year the children were read a story then seen santa ,this year santa was sat there like a spare part ,unfortunately I will need be back as the attitude was disgraceful.

It was awful, extremely limited menu just burger or pizza and no kids meals at all. The staff ignored us and when we spilt a drink which he clearly heard he ignored it while on the phone taking a personal call. My daughter was crying because she thought she was in trouble and we'd taken her out for a special meal to celebrate. We drank our drinks a left and not a word was said to us as we left. The rudest and most disgusting restaurant experience I've ever had.

I was out with my family this afternoon. There was a man in front of me having his meat carved by one of the kitchen staff. A young woman. Some meat had dropped on the counter as she was placing it on the man's plate, and the man picked it up and put it on his plate. The employee then left, went and an older woman arrived who appeared to be some kind of manager. She was very hostile and aggressive saying the man had picked some meat off the roast which he had not. But she was adamant as this this what her staff member had apparently told her. A large argument took place which was very upsetting for other customers. It is quite apparent that the staff there need more training in customer relations. It was very disturbing. Very unprofessional. Completely spoilt our evening.

I decided to visit the Mons, with a friend, on Sunday 19th November, a visit which turned out to be the worst experience "ever" in the history of me eating out at any establishment. I have eaten in places all over the world but never experienced being called a liar by a Manageress who is intent on accusation rather than listening to another person's account of what happened. I ordered drinks and paid for them whilst my friend paid for the carvery meals, we both then went to the food counter where we waited to get served. A male chef started to serve us then he got called into the kitchen to be replaced with a blonde young female who seemed displeased to be coming out of the kitchen to serve members of the public. We both requested to have the choice of turkey, beef and pork. As the blonde female was cutting the meat, my friend asked for a bit more pork as the provided portions were tiny, as were mine. The female gave a dirty look at my friend without saying anything, but still a dirty look is a dirty look. As she was serving my meat there was more meat being carved which was falling off the carvery plate plate than was going on our plates. What a complete waste of meat I thought to myself. I reached across and picked up a piece of pork that was "completely free" from the main piece of pork being cut and put it on my plate. I'm not kidding if the portions of meat given were that small it's not rude to ask for a bit more as long as it's going to be eaten, after all it's called a carvery. The portion of beef provided was equally so small I requested a bit more to which she obliged then said to me afterwards "I can't give you any more than that mate" even though I didn't ask again for more meat than the previous request. The blonde female then disappeared into the kitchen while me and my friend were adding our vegetables to our plates. About half a minute later a woman I assume was the Manageress came out saying she wanted a word with me then started accusing me of picking meat directly off the pork joint with my fingers which was absolutely totally untrue and a false accusation. The blonde female had in effect gone into the kitchen and told a complete pack of lies to what actually happened. The Manageress who had made up her mind to accuse, argue be hostile and not listen then started shouting at me in front of members of the public that the whole joint of meat will have to be thrown out. To try and calm things down I took a £20 note our of my pocket and offered to pay for the piece of meat that she was intent on binning. My offer seemed to make the Manageress even more argumentative and hostile stated to me if you're going to argue with me you can have your money back and leave, then snatched my plate out of my hand. At this rise in escalation with her raising her voice, snatching my plate trying to humiliate me in front of the whole pub I had had enough then started saying in an equally vocal tone she had a bad attitude and needed to brush up on her public relations. More words were exchanged and then she shouted at me to get out of the pub and that no money would be gutting refunded to me or my friend. So basically my visit at the Mons was an absolute nightmare visit. Being accused and misrepresented by a moody blonde female kichen assistant as a liar for something I did not actually do, add to that a snarling and out of control Manageress who was absolutely crazy and then being denied a refund for untouched drinks and paid for meals. Since leaving school thirty years ago this has to be the absolute worst experience EVER. Anyone visiting the Mons, don't ever think of asking for more meat. At the Mons their attitude is you'll have what your given, if you're not happy get out and never come back. As for the crazy Manageress she should be doing the doors as an SIA licenced doorman at concert Square. She is out of her depth dealing with members of the public with the attitude of accusing paying customers of being a liar without actually list
