“My partner comes over to the Isle of Man frequently for work and raves about Jaks so I jumped at the chance of a quick visit and I was not disappointed! We hadn’t pre booked and visited on a very busy Sunday afternoon. Jaks is a sports bar and there was football and rugby so we weren’t really surprised to see how busy it was. The atmosphere was fantastic and the staff were great. We weren’t able to eat downstairs but Miles one of the bar men rang upstairs to see if there were any free tables and luckily there was. There’s lots of choice on the menu and on a Sunday there’s also a carvery. I went for brisket with burnt ends and 2 sides one house cooked chips and one creamed corn. My partner had mixed grill with creamed corn and Mac & cheese. This smokehouse is the best smokehouse I have eaten in! The food was just perfect although the portions were huge. The meat just melted in your mouth and was so full of flavour. The creamed corn was delicious if they could ship it over to me I would have a freezer full, it was so good. My partner’s mixed grill was huge it had sausage, burnt ends, brisket, chicken wings, ribs and much more. Again he couldn’t finish it all but he said it was perfect. His mac & cheese had a nice spicy kick to it and was super cheesy. The meat just fell off the ribs and the combination of the sauces were delicious. I can’t recommend Jaks highly enough I would definitely make another trip to to eat here!”
