Great food, lovely new menu. Staff are friendly, helpful and all round awesome. We come every Monday and wouldn’t miss it, and I come every Saturday with my team mates after hockey.

Went here for my daughters birthday with all the family. and our 7 month old grandson. The food was exceptional, and the service from the staff was second to none. My daughter was absolutely gobsmacked when the bar staff brought out her cake, and joined in happy birthday. I hadn't been here before, but let's say it is now a family favourite! Thank you again to all the staff but a special shout out to Paddy, Laura and Julia for going way beyond service and making our daughters birthday surprise extra special!!

Been here a few times and really enjoyed it but on this occasion it was the worst ever meal that we have ever had, the staff did not care, and because we complained they never had the balls to come over and asked if we were enjoying it and never even had the decency to thank us for our visit. Visited here at the weekend, we could not fault the staff or their service. The food was excellent and came in a reasonable time also. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a family friendly place, with a great atmosphere.
Christmas Day 2023. Horrendous. staff are lovely.SACK the chief. stuffing ball had a film over it. the turkey had a weird taste i think it was under cooked.the yorkshire pudding was soggy. the veg was so hard i don't think it had been in boiling water. even the roasted parsnips were hard. the pigs in blankets were covered in grease as though they had hone cold before being plated.the plate was hot but food was luke warm. one meal came out without gravy.the only thing i ate was the roast potatoes and the gravy. the whole meal was absolutely disgusting. And we had an early sitting so its not even a case of been too busy. the desert was an icecream party a glass with icecream at the bottom party ring biccys huge pieces of birthday cake and cream on top. the apple pie an custard was rancid. no imagination and no flare. I can honestly say the only nice thing was Leaving…….£55 quid. daylight robbery. Don’t Bother

Quiz night tonight at the Blackhorse rainhill. It was my first visit since their refurbished a few weeks ago. The pub may have a new look but the food hasn’t, if you can find any that is! Half of the things on the menu are unavailable, 4 choices later and they finally have it, I get it before the referb with needing to run things down before closure but there’s really no excuse now, good luck to all who have booked for Christmas dinner, you’ll definitely need it. AND, to top it off, the guys who do the quiz unloaded all of their gear to set up only to be told that there were no working plug sockets in the whole pub and they’ve been out since Friday. On the plus side, Ian and Leanne Quiz Time. The Not Too Serious Quiz People. made the best of the bad management and where brilliant as always ??
