Spam fritter review...Sadly wanted this to be a good spam fritter as its close to home, sadly though one thing a spam fritter needs is actual spam. If you are going to advertise spam fritters then use actual spam. Thin, round, very soft meat with an odd smoky taste, not too greasy.2/10.On the plus side chips are very nice.Very long serving time.The hunt for the perfect (actual) spam fritter continues.....

Fantastic service! We had a huge order for our school trip. We ordered in advance and everything came out on time, with all food labelled for each each member of staff and child. Both children and staff really enjoyed the food.Thank you so much from St Paul’s Utkinton CE Primary ⭐️

Cash only at the counter. Long wait (20 minutes) for fish as everything was cooked to order even though this was lunchtime and the shop was busy. That said the food was excellent and I would go there again. £10.50 for large fish and chips in a container. They also do gluten free battered fish. Best to order as soon as you go in and mind your head on the display screen by the counter.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options.Parking: Main street, no parking outside.

I think, this is the best fish and chips I've ever had, since in the UK for 3 months. Because the Fish is not just salty, but also milky. So, it does not depend on the flour, but the fish itself is tasty. Plus, the hot curry is crazy delicious. A European and Indian blend, it perfectly works! They made it with heart.Here, you have to do the take away, they don't provide dine in seats. But, that's not a big deal, once u step out of the store, there're some seats that help you eat fish and chips while getting wondered by the old town of West Kirby in front of you. Mesmerizing.
I walked into this take. away at 7.31. i was 3rd in the queue so it took about 7 mins to place my order. So by 7.40 i had placed my order and paid. They close at 8pm so i had arrived plenty of time. Or so you would have thought. At 7.52 the owner turned the open sign off. At 7.59 the customer in front of me took her order away. and then at 8pm the owner said to me “i have run out of chips. I can peel another bag but it will take 12-15mins or i can give you your money back.” I had been in there 30 minutes. waiting for a bag of chips. i wasnt waiting another 15minutes. i took my money and vowed never to go back. If he had said when i placed my order it will take 20 mins or said sorry but i wont have any chips left so i wont take your order then that would have been fair enough. But no he waited until it was my turn to deliver his service message. I was furious, still am to be honest. i could have made my own in less time but i just wanted a quick filler. I wont go ever again. not because he ran out of his core product but because of the way he handled the customer service. For the info of the reader of this make sure you order before 7.15. Or preferably take your business somewhere else.

Popped into here and found out that it is cash only! No cards/contactless etc. I wonder why, there is no excuse these days. We had to wait 20 minutes for a very simple order, where the food we could see was already cooked and being kept hot. No idea why this was the case either. Average chippy, too long a wait for a very simple meal.

Great fish and chips from marigolds, we were recommended by a friend and it didn't disappoint.??

If you are looking for quantity and not quality I would recommend Marigolds. We ordered one large fish, one regular portion of chips, wholetail scampi and a cod fishcake. The fish & chips were served in one container. The fish and batter were good, but not hot enough. Also the huge quantity of chips was just about warm. The wholetail scampi was ok, but at least one piece had not had the ‘poo’ removed. The fishcake was terrible. There was a vague smell of fish about it, but it might just as well have been mashed potato in a strange yellow ‘crumb’. Very disappointing, this use to be an excellent fish & chip shop
