The restaurant was buzzing despite it being a cold and windy night in January. The service was outstanding throughout the evening and there seemed to be plenty of staff all wanting to please and assist. The menu was extremely original and delicious and it was fun to be sharing many of the dishes which adds greatly to the experience. We will be back if we can get a table!

I first visited Socius in the early December pre christmas calm. It was not a weekend or a friday evening just a rainy cold Wednesday night. The type of climate that peaks one's interest in eating and eating well!!! Comfort! I sat adjacent the pass and fervently observed the toing & froing of the waiting staff as well as the organisation in the kitchen. Justina attended well and paved the way for a good evening with a Negroni and a limitless smile. The menu is uncomplicated and is not subject to "specials" which indicates that they do what they do and do it bloody well. I chose from the Drinking Snacks the Sticky King Prawns. Delicious in fact so good they named it twice....I had two helpings!! Comfort secured!!! Having wrapped myself around a bottle of Montepulciano I speculated further on the Pork belly & Cotswold sausage with a back hand of house rubbed chips. Marvellous and done to perfection. Not the most adventurous i know dear reader...but such lovely tastes, i felt a beneficiary of the time spent in perfecting these dishes. The coup de gras was the fanfared arrival of the "Salted caramel tart".....oh WOW as Greg would say! This is a limited edition sweet...only produced at high tide, blue moon and an eight Sunday month. For sure the best desert of this year. No doubt. The christmas break caused me to leave my Yorkshire bunker and swiftly revisit Socius .....on two further occasions to get a handle on the other plates on the menu. Different gravy. These two nights were choco, full on with demanding festive diners. Did the service suffer? No. Did the quality of food suffer? No. Behind the pass all was orderly, focussed and enthusiastic. We sampled two further pallets full of Sticky King Prawns followed by the Burrata, Grilled Cod, Picanha Steak & Chicken liver parfait...just about leaving room for further exposure to the Salted Caramel Tart!! (There were two of us partaking!) All in all my message to you is go out of your way to enjoy an evening at this restaurant. It is so well run, the food is so tasty & perfect and the service admirable. Hopefully it will be a Blue Moon!!!

The now standard small plates but here it’s done extremely well indeed. Flavours excellent and great cocktails and drinks menu.

From the moment we entered the restaurant, I was made to feel special as it was my birthday. The cocktails were beautiful and the food was sublime. Plate after plate of deliciousness, all prepared with such care and attention to detail. We look forward to returning very soon.

A treat for my sisters birthday and what a treat it was. Thank you, the food was amazing, ambience fantastic and the staff superb. Nice touch with a glass of Prosecco and a birthday plate, my sister was delighted.

The food was really interesting with delicious flavours and great textures. However mostly it was not hot and neither were the plates the food was served on. The burrata was fridge cold and not room temperature. Staff were quite indifferent and more interested in chatting amongst themselves than with customers. Would give it 3.5 out of 5 if I could.

Amazing food beautifully presented backed by superb service. We managed to get a late cancellation and we were both delighted. Honestly this was the best meal I’d had in 20 years . The tapas style allows for a true tasting experience and the serving staff did a great job in ensuring we preferred appropriate courses.

Great staff, Great food and will be back. I had booked this for our wedding anniversary a while ago but the day before our childcare let us down. So I emailed and had a quick reply saying that it wasn’t a issue to bring our child along with us. We were met by friendly staff who showed us to the table. The Menu looked amazing with a nice choice of options, not so too large either. Our child had the small bowl of tomato pasta, which was actually quite a large portion, despite this he ate it all. We had overdone breakfast, so shared a few dishes as we weren’t overly hungry, namely the Sticky Kings Prawns (forgot to get a photo of this) , Chicken Pate, Lamb Belly and some Chips. I honestly could not fault the food, it was delicious and its clear to see why on a mid week lunchtime the place was filling up with guests. The only thing I would say on the menu would be to separate starters from mains maybe, just to make it a little clearer. After mains we had a Chocolate Bar and the Affogato. The staff were helpful as we were unsure if we were going to share on not, after talking to the waitress we decided to share but order 2 different things and have half each. Overall the while experience was worth every penny, and next time I would make sure to have a reserve childminder so we can enjoy it more as although they cater for children I think i would have enjoyed it more if I wasn’t looking after a 15 month old.

Fantastic flavours and excellent cooking. The service was spot on and the food was well crafted with amazing flavours and textures in every mouthful. Reasonably priced for the quality of the food in a relaxed setting looking over the pass. One of the best eating experiences I have had for a long time!

Absolutely flawless. We went for lunch on Friday lunchtime. Six dishes between two was more than enough. Wonderful food. Wonderful service. Brilliant atmosphere. We were particularly impressed with the celeriac dish. Wow

If you are after a cheap meal, look somewhere else.OK, now I have said that, the food is amazing. They have put a lot of effort into (and succeeded) putting together a very interesting menu ~ something for everyone ~ and executing it perfectly. We were a large group of 9 and all dishes were perfectly prepared and presented. The flavours were very well thought through with good quality ingredients used. The atmosphere was nice but not exceptional, modern but maybe a little boring.Nice touch allowing dogs at lunchtime.Wheelchair accessibility: The staircase is terrifying if you are a bit unsteady.

We had a lovely evening last night. The venue is well presented and easy to find in Burnham market. The food was exceptional and also quite reasonable in price for the quality and portion sizes. We spent about £60 a person on food and drink but couldn’t finish everything we had ordered because we were too full ?When the food is of such high quality, every small thing stands out as strange. We thought the burrata was delicious, but the least well presented for all the dishes. Everything else was very cleanly presented, the burrata not so much. We also found our main dishes to be slightly on the salty side due to the dressing/sauce. The meat itself was absolutely perfect, just slightly overpowered by the salty sauces. That being said, this could be chalked up to personal taste. The sauce with the meat was delicious for the first few bites, but the salt started to build up by the end of the dish. The Hake and steak were very generous portions ?? none of this should be taken as a “negative” comment. Just observations when everything is to such a high standard. They did well to accommodate my wife who can’t eat dairy, the waiter knew all the answers off the top of his head, so the team were evidently briefed well and things were well communicated.Drinks menu was nice, given we were driving we could only try a wine and local beer, both nice.We didn’t try deserts as we overate in the starter and main course ?Dietary restrictions: Dairy free options/adaptations available

My favourite place to eat. The food is fantastic, as is the atmosphere and service. We had another lovely meal with the kids and can’t wait to go back.
