Lovely place, unfortunately my dinner did not match. My duck was difficult to cut and chewy and the only vegetable I was able to cut was the 1 baby carrot on my plate as the green beans and broccoli were that aldente I cut not even cut them up, disappointed and for the standard of food very overpriced. shame.My friend had a burger and chips which were both so salty she had to leave them.

During a brief stop in Downham Market to take a quick look around and do some photography, a friend and I visited the Allium. It appears to be both an evening restaurant and daytime café. We thoroughly enjoyed a pot of tea and slices of the establishment's home made Bakewell Tart. Perfection. The place is homely and the service first class. If ever in the northern part of Norfolk again, we'll certainly head for the Allium.

A fantastic and high quality dining experience with an incredible selection of starters, mains and desserts. The food is remarkable, every bite was a culinary delight with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Staff are courteous and knowledgeable about what they are serving. The interior is comforting and elegant with a glamorous bar offering a wide range of wines and cocktails. It is a costly fine dining establishment, but it is 10000% worth the price.This restaurant does get extremely busy in the evenings especially over the weekend, so I would recommend booking in advance.

The food was nothing short of exceptional, the portions were very generous and really hot. Friendly, helpful staff and delicious food. I had mushroom stroganoff - a good size portion, lovely rich flavour, followed by lemon meringue with a difference - very fluffy with a tangy lemon sauce, highly recommended.

There's always a warm welcome at Allium, and the food is consistently good. Their Sunday roast is the best around. Our family eat here on a regular basis for evening meals and Sunday lunch and always have a very enjoyable experience. Lovely restaurant, fantastic staff and a great atmosphere.
