Lovely little place, food was really good. I had prawn and vege kebabs, delish! 4 -5 beer options. And we hit the half price deal, 2 mains, 2 deserts, 3 drinks = £17.50!!

Visited Gorleston for an extended weekend and seen some rave reviews for Gambas beforehand, as it was at the end of the road to where we were staying we thought we would try it. A liitle bit mixed on the review if I'm honest. While this establishment is described foremost as a seafood restraunt, we found that it isn't really, no more than any restraunt with one or two fish dishes included. That's not to say that what is included is poor, far from it. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her pan fried Sea bass over roast potatoes, while the garlic buttered prawns that accompanied my rib eye steak was mouthwatering. I would visit again because the food is excellent. Just isn't a seafood restraunt.

Upon arriving we said that we had booked a table & they instantly looked confused and unsure. They searched the reservation book & wasn’t able to find our name. This wasn’t much problem as the were plenty of seats. The problem arrived when receiving our food. We got the classic £7 Roast dinners & had ordered extra Yorkshire puddings as the portion sizes are quite small & that’s saying something for someone who’s on the edge of being under weight. They brought our food out without the extra Yorkshire puddings & told us they would be a COUPLE of minutes. Obviously this was absolutely fine (even though we ordered extras at the exact time we ordered everything else). We ended up waiting 20 minutes for a member of staff to come over & even then we ended up asking what had happened. The woman told us that they have no “Fresh Yorkshire puddings” left. Upon questioning, it turns out that the food isn’t in fact “Fresh” as that is classed as “Fresh Fresh”. Not too sure what the difference is, as fresh should be just cooked & not frozen. Adding a “Fresh Fresh” makes me think the food isn’t as fresh as they make out. Don’t think I’ll risk eating here again. For an almost empty restaurant, the speed & quality of the food was poor.

We ate here last night and the food and drink were excellent. The service was provided with a smile, orders arrived quickly and we were checked on after every course was served to see if everything was alright. The king prawn skewers were lovely char grilled and the halloumi fries and chicken carbonara were also equally tasty. Would recommend a visit from anyone locally, 5 stars

Me and my mum & 2 kids came to gambas this evening. We had the roast which was amazing. All the meats were soft, the vegetables & potatoes were cooked perfectly and the gravy tasted delicious, they were able to cater for my young daughter who has a dairy allergy. Great value for great tasting food. Portion size was perfect too. All the staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. It’s not the first time we’ve ate from here and won’t be the last. Beats Toby Carvery any day.

The food and service is always good. They have an extensive cocktail menu that is very reasonably priced. The staff are very friendly and David always greets you with a smile. They have a loyalty card scheme and run offers throughout the week.

Beautiful food, reasonable prices and attentive staff.Have a read through the negative reviews and you'll see it should be rated higher as the issues seem to be their own... greasy baklava? Really?
